ZVOX started in 2003 with a mission to design simple, affordable sound systems. Using virtual surround sound technology combined with a built-in subwoofer, ZVOX created the first commercially successful soundbar in 2004.
Since that time, ZVOX audio has offered up a lot of well-received soundbars, but also embarked on another goal, to make soundbars and external TV speakers that make dialog easier to hear using hearing aid technology
The AV120
The AV120 joins the ZVOX product lineup that includes soundbars/TV speakers, headphones, voice bud hearing aids, and the innovative AV70 AccuVoice bluetooth conference speaker.
Let’s check out what the ZVOX AV120 has to offer.
Core Features
Physical Design: The AV120 is a very compact soundbar/TV speaker that is only 15 inches wide, 2 inches high, and 2.5 inches deep. It is offered in a black or bronze-wrapped industrial injection molded plastic cabinet that houses the left and right channel 2 x 3-inch, full-range speakers.
Tip: The AV120 is listed as having a total output of 45 watts.
AccuVoice: This boosts vocals and dialog so that they are clearer against other sounds. There are 2 Accuvoice modes.
Output Leveling (OL): This feature enhances the listening experience by leveling out volume spikes (such as the difference between commercials and regular programming), as well as making the voice/dialog levels more even with the rest of the sounds that may be present.
PhaseCue (SURROUND): This feature uses virtual surround sound processing to provide a wider soundstage that is best suited for movies. When PhaseCue Surround is activated, the AccuVoice is disabled, but the PhaseCue settings do provide some voice enhancement.
Tip: Each PhaseCue setting provides more or less surround sound emphasis. If you choose a wider surround setting, there is a lessening of dialog presence.
Audio Input Options: One mini-Digital Optical in. The AV120 does not have an HDMI-ARC/eARC connection.
Tip: Adapter cables are included for Digital Optical to mini Digital optical connection, as well as Analog to mini-Digital Optical connection.
USB: The AV120 also has a USB connection for playing MP3 files from compatible USB Flash Drives.
Control Options: A wireless remote control is provided (there are no controls on the soundbar). The AV120 is also compatible with many universal remotes and some TV remotes for access to basic functions (Volume, Mute, and Power).
Bluetooth: Stream music or podcasts from a compatible smartphone, tablet, or laptop to the AV120.
Tip: Bluetooth version and codec compatibility information not provided.

This might be just what my spousal unit needs as I noticed she must have a problem with dialog. She never responds to my talking to her until I am shouting.
Thank you! 😉
