Yamaha BD-S677 Blu-ray Player

Yamaha just announced the BD-S677 Blu-ray 3D and SACD player that also streams video, music, game content and images from mobile devices and the Internet. The all-in-one media player includes built-in Wi-Fi for streaming content wirelessly from Miracast-compatible smartphones and tablets to home entertainment systems. In addition, those with Dropbox accounts will be able to access, view and share their videos, music, pictures and documents over the Internet. This player also provides the ability to view movies, videos and digital images using VUDU, YouTube Leanback and Picasa Web Albums.

The BD-S677 is designed to complement the company’s current line of AV receivers in styling and operation. With HDMI CEC support the users can turn on and play discs at the touch of a SCENE button found on all Yamaha AV receivers. With direct USB connection, users will be able to access content stored on portable devices and flash drives. This model is also DLNA Certified and can wirelessly playback content from PCs and NAS devices. A free Yamaha AV Controller App is available for Apple iOS and Android devices that provides seamless control of both the Blu-ray player and any of Yamaha’s network AV receivers.

“The BD-S677 is a very flexible Blu-ray player that strives to eliminate the line between home and mobile entertainment by providing users the ability to share and enjoy their portable device content on televisions within their homes,” said Bob Goedken, general manager, AV products, Yamaha Corporation of America. “Its ease-of-use will provide our customers quick navigation to a wider array of their favorite videos, pictures and music.”
