XM’s CANADIAN PARTNER AWARDED LICENSE TO OFFER SATELLITE RADIO SERVICE IN CANADA
Washington D.C., June 16, 2005 — XM Satellite Radio (NASDAQ: XMSR), America’s leading satellite radio service with more than four million subscribers, today announced that its Canadian partner, Canadian Satellite Radio (CSR), has been granted a broadcasting license from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to deliver commercial-free music and premier news, sports, talk, and entertainment to Canadians from coast-to-coast.

XM and CSR will be working together to address the differences between the Canadian content standards described in the broadcasting license and what was proposed in the license application.
