X-Rite Chosen As HP DreamColor LCD Display Color Technology Partner

X-Rite Supports Accurate, Consistent & Reliable Color Technology for Worlds First Color-Critical LCD

Grand Rapids, MI — September 12, 2008 — X-Rite, Incorporated (NASDAQ: XRIT), the world leader in color management and measurement technologies (www.xrite.com), today announced it has been selected as a technology partner by HP for the development, manufacture and provision of color calibration and profiling solutions for the all-new HP DreamColor LP2480zx Professional Display.

The HP DreamColor Display offers unprecedented color management and control, making it ideal for photo studio professionals, digital artists, animators, and others who find color perfection paramount. More information about the HP LCD display is available at the HP website: http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press/2008/080610xd.html.

X-Rite is once again pleased to work with HP in a shared vision of making accurate, predictable, and easy color reproduction. This is an ideal springboard to launch a new standard in color excellence everywhere that DreamColor technologies can be applied,” states Tom Vacchiano, X-Rite’s chief executive officer.

The HP LCD display provides broad color support, rich visual quality, and consistent color presentation results on a 24-inch, wide-aspect, studio-computer screen. The panel technology supports over 1 billion colors, with X-Rite-developed color control and factory-calibrated color-space breakthroughs, making it the industry’s first LCD to exceed CRT color performance standards.

X-Rite, a long-standing color technology resource for HP, developed an HP colorimeter specifically for the display and software that provides Windows and MacOS users easy access to all advanced color management and calibration functions. X-Rite also designed manufacturing quality control system for HP, assuring every DreamColor display leaves the factory with its 7-preset color spaces precisely calibrated.

X-Rite has played an important part in bringing our DreamColor display to market,” said Jun Kim, vice president, Display Business Unit, HP. “Their deep color management expertise is showcased in the design of the display and the calibration solution of the world’s first color-critical LCD.
