Following up on our reports of the 2023 Vizio TVs and M-Series soundbars announced this week, it looks like Vizio is also introducing a new V-Series entry-level soundbar with little fanfare.
The Vizio V214X-K6 is a soundbar with wireless subwoofer that covers all the basics plus a few bonuses. If you desire to boost your TV sound quality without a complicated setup, then this soundbar might be just the ticket.
Features & Specs
Product Description: The Vizio V214X-K6 is 30-inches wide and just over 2-inches high. At this size it should fit under any TV, but will likely sound best in smaller rooms matched with TVs sized 55-inches or under.
The soundbar houses left and right channel full-range speakers. That means there isn’t a separate tweeter so high frequency response will be limited.
An additional wireless ported (bass reflex) subwoofer with a 5-inch driver is provided for bass. That’s not a huge driver as far as subwoofers go, so we’d expect limited low frequency output as well. On the plus side, its lower bass output is unlikely to disturb neighbors or people in other rooms.
Frequency Response: 50Hz to 20kHz. The 50Hz low-frequency cut-off isn’t going to deliver really deep bass, but for an all-in-one soundbar design, it will fill out the low frequencies much better than any TV’s built-in speaker system.
SPL (Sound Pressure Level): 90dB. This provides lots of sound output to fill an average size room.
Dolby Format Support: Dolby Audio. Although it decodes Dolby Audio, there aren’t enough speaker drivers to deliver enveloping sound effects capable with more expensive Dolby Atmos enabled soundbars.
DTS Support: Virtual:X processing and DTS TruVolume (this provides more even volume levels).
EQ Sound Modes: Movie, Music, Game, Dialogue. These settings could be helpful to fine tune your listening preference based on how you use it.
Bluetooth ver 4.1: You can use Bluetooth to play music from compatible devices, such as smartphones, or connect an Amazon Echo device to access Alexa voice assistant features or play music from the echo device through the soundbar.
Tip: Ethernet/Wi-Fi connectivity is not provided thus there are no built-in smart features.
Control: IR Wireless Remote plus Control buttons on the top of the soundbar.
Voice Control: Voice control is not built-in but you can access Alexa, Google, and Siri by connecting your preferred voice assistant device via the Aux VA 3.5mm input or Bluetooth. The wired and wireless input is always active and ready for a voice command. The volume of your content is automatically lowered so you can hear voice feedback clearly.
