Are you looking to expand your gaming experience this summer? ViewSonic has announced the X2-4K, the world’s first “Certified for Xbox” projector as part of Microsoft’s “Designed for Xbox” program which includes several third-party branded products including controllers, gamepads, racing wheels, headsets, and more.
X2-4K Xbox Support
Xbox certification means that the Viewsonic X2-4K is designed to support the best possible gameplay from Xbox gaming consoles with the following gaming-centric features:
- Native 1440p resolution at a 120 Hz refresh rate experience from either of the Xbox Series X|S consoles.
- The X2-4K can output native 4K @ 60Hz and 1080p @ 240Hz with a 4.2ms response time for the fastest possible player reaction times for the PC gaming audience. Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) is also supported. This allows users to choose an “Ultra-Fast Input” with 1/10th of the delay compared to the average 4K UHD TV.
- The Xbox Series X|S consoles can use HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) to send commands to and from CEC-enabled devices, which includes the X2-4K. This allows Xbox users via the gaming controller, to turn the power on/off on the X2-4K as well as control the volume.
Tip: In addition to Xbox, HDMI-CEC works with other current gaming consoles and X2-4K.
From Mia Shen, Sr. Business Line Manager at ViewSonic: “The X2-4K projector was developed to be considered a true gaming projector…It went through 63 tests conducted by Team Xbox to ensure ultimate console compatibility and is designated as the world’s first ‘Designed for Xbox’ certified projector.”
Additional X2-4K Projector Highlights
The projector comes with a short throw lens with an adjustable 0.69-0.83 throw ratio, H/V keystone correction, and 4-corner adjustment capabilities.
Tip: The X2-4K can project a 100-inch image from a distance of 5 feet.
The X2-4K also has TÜV SÜD’s Low Blue Light Certified. This is great for gamers and it means that you will not suffer eye damage or discomfort caused by prolonged viewing.
For audio, the X2-4K includes integrated dual Harman Kardon speakers. The projector also has a 3.5 mm analog audio output for connecting to an external soundbar, AVR, or compatible powered speakers.
Tip: Just like TVs, sound systems built-into projectors don’t provide the optimum audio experience.
