Must-See Improvements Streamline Web Site’s Look and Navigation, and Add Services and Resources to Help Pros Save Time, Share Info, Raise Profits

HARRISON, NY, Feb. 14, 2008 — Universal Remote Control, Inc. (URC), the leader in remote control design and manufacturing for home and professional entertainment systems, has launched a new improved edition of the URC Control Room Web site, packed with new services, training resources, and support materials to help custom installers and dealers save time, and increase their productivity and profits.

Premiering at www.urccontrolroom.com, the new URC Control Room is also accessible through URC’s main portal, www.universalremote.com. More than just an updated Web site, the new URC Control Room includes a wealth of engaging features created around a more robust development platform that’s also more graphically compatible with the primary URC site.

The new Control Room’s features more clearly reflect a contemporary aesthetic as well as the user-friendliness of URC remote controls. Its goals, while retaining useful features from the earlier site, are to make the URC’s services and resources more accessible, and to better serve the daily needs of installers and dealers.

The new URC Control Room is arranged into seven distinct areas: What’s Hot, Training & Certification, Points for Product, Software Downloads, Templates & Galleries, Sales Tools, and User Forum. What’s Hot initially focuses on the powerful new MX-980 Remote Control and the best-selling MX-3000. Training & Certification, greatly expanded, now offers a wide selection of LIVE, Web-based, online fully interactive training courses. Users can ask questions and get immediate answers from instructors who are also online. Self-paced online courses are also offered, as is information about dealer-sponsored training seminars at locations across the country.

Points for Product offers installers valuable points for sharing their expertise with other installers, so that everyone benefits. The points can be turned in for significant discounts on URC products. Software Downloads and Templates & Galleries offer expanded libraries of programming software, graphics, and product literature and images, all available free of charge.

Sales Tools, a new section, offers valuable resources designed to help dealers increase sales. User Forum is more user-friendly, interactive and compatible with a wide range of file types, which will help installers more easily share tips and other information.

The new site is also more extendable than the earlier version, enabling URC to continue to update and further improve its services.
