– Offered in sizes from 1 meter to 15 meters, Ultralink’s high performance HDMI cables are compatible with all audio and video devices compliant to the new HDMI ver. 1.3b standard
– All Ultralink HDMI cables meet HDMI’s Compliance Test Specification for the superior bandwidth required to transmit all current and planned future HD formats
CEDIA EXPO – DENVER, CO- Sept. 5, 2007- Ultralink/XLO Products, Incorporated – one of the industry’s fastest growing manufacturers of audio/video interconnects, cables and power products announces the certification of their HDMI cables that guarantee complete compliance with the new HDMI Ver. 1.3b specifications during CEDIA EXPO this week in Denver, Co.
Well known for their proprietary engineering and performance-driven manufacturing of A/V cables and speaker wire, Ultralink showcases their HDMI cables – all of which are compliant with the new HDMI 1.3b specifications – in five separate lines of products – CS1, Challenger-2, Matrix-2, Advanced Performance and HDMI Pro Platinum MkII. Like all Ultralink products, all of their HDMI cables remain true to Ultralink’s SDS (Signal Delivery System) philosophy, where every cable is specifically optimized for the type of signal it carries to ensure the best possible performance.
HDMI 1.3b Bandwidth Requirements
Part of the HDMI specification requires enough bandwidth to support all current HDTV formats, however, the HDMI ver. 1.3b spec increases its single-link bandwidth to 340 MHz (10.2 Gbps) to support the demands for future HD display devices that could provide higher resolutions, Deep Color and higher frame rates. Moreover, HDMI 1.3b provides the highest audio quality as it enables the full, lossless audio data of Dolby TrueHD to be transferred digitally to AV Receiver’s. All of Ultralink’s current HDMI cables passed the Compliance Test Specification (CTS) ensuring they meet all bandwidth specifications for current and future HD formats.
Five Series of Ultralink HDMI
Available in all five of their product series, Ultralink HDMI cables are impedance matched with multiple twisted pair arrays. Ultralink HDMI cables are constructed with various advanced conductor metallurgy including Lab Grade 6N copper (99.99997% pure) and silver plated 6N copper. Higher-grade conductor ensures the best transmission of all the fine details required of an HDMI cable. Moreover, 6N copper is extremely flexible and reliable to terminate. This is particularly important in cable constructs like HDMI that carry critical low-level, high bandwidth data such as HD video signals. Ultralink also uses a proprietary process that micro-welds the conductor to the pins, requiring less injection of foreign metal into the signal path. Terminations are injection molded with 24K gold-plated connectors.
The entry-level CS1 Series HDMI cables are quad-shielded, with two full braids and two AL Mylar foils. There are five lengths available ranging from 1 meter to 5 meters in length with prices starting at $30 retail.
The Challenger-2 Series HDMI cables use the same quad shielding as the CS1, with an improved proprietary high density PE dielectric insulation. This series also offers 1 meter to 5 meters lengths with prices starting at $50 retail.
The Matrix-2 Series HDMI cables are almost identical in construction to the Challenger-2 Series. What makes the Matrix-2 a step-above is the use of costlier materials in critical performance areas but what’s visibly different is the modern, transparent outer jacket that allows you to look at the internal construction. Also, available in lengths from 1 meter to 5 meters, the Matrix-2 HDMI cables come with prices starting at $60 retail.
Using a low capacitance, nitrogen-injected FPE dielectric insulation, the Advanced Performance Series is Ultralink’s most consistent high-end performer. Also known in their literature as the Videophile HDMI cable, there are a total of 10 different lengths available from 1 meter to 15 meters, offered at prices starting at $90 retail.
While every Ultralink cable, regardless of series, delivers tremendous performance and outstanding value, in every product line there has to be one series that goes beyond all the rest. A series that uses the best materials available, utilizes all of a company’s resources and best designs, a series without regard to cost that will deliver unrivaled performance for reference quality audio and video systems. For Ultralink, that is the HDMI Pro MkII 1.3 Series, which employs Teflon dielectric insulation and cryogenically treated, silver-plated, Lab-Grade 6N copper. Offerings of the new HDMI Pro MkII 1.3 range from 1 – 15 meters in length and pricing that begins at $120 retail.
All the new Ultralink HDMI 1.3b cables are in stock, shipping now, and can be seen in Booth 564 at the Colorado Convention Center during the CEDIA EXPO in Denver, CO. starting September 5.
