Although the vast majority of homes have a TV as the center of their home entertainment setup, a growing number of consumers are opting for the UST (Ultra Short Throw) projector (aka Laser TV) option.
One reason that UST (Ultra Short Throw) video projectors are becoming an increasingly popular solution is that you can have a really big screen viewing experience even with limited space.
A new brand that has decided to enter the UST market is ULTIMEA, which has announced the launch of the ULTIMEA Thor T60 Triple Laser TV.
Thor T60 Basics
The T60 features a long-lasting Tri-Color Laser Light Engine and an abundance of features that bring big-screen movies, sports, and gaming to prospective buyers.
The ULTIMEA Thor T60 has a minimalist design that can blend into any décor and almost all room sizes. The projector unit can be placed just inches from the wall for the most popular screen sizes. The T60 can project a 100-inch image with a projector-to-screen distance of 7.2 inches.
Tip: If you are worried about unwanted projector noise, the Thor T60 runs at a very quiet level of less than 30 dB.
Laser Light Engine
With the Tri-Color Laser Engine and HCTC 3.0 Technology, the T60 is designed to deliver precise color purity, wide color gamut (120% BT.2020), and wide contrast (4,000:1).
Tip: Laser light engines don’t require periodic replacement as the traditional lamps used in many projectors do.
To deliver optimal brightness, the Thor T60 employs ULTIMEA’s trademark technology, BrightMX, with an output of 4000 ANSI Lumens. This makes the T60 less susceptible to ambient daylight and provides enhanced visual display quality under varying lighting conditions.
Tip: Regardless of how much light the projector can output through its lens, for daylight viewing an ALR (Ambient Light Rejecting Screen) should be considered.
How The Thor T60 Displays 4K Resolution
The Tri-Color Laser Engine is combined with a .47-inch 1080p resolution DLP imaging chip (aka DMD – Digital Micromirror Device) from Texas Instruments. The chip contains 2.1 million pixels (very tiny mirrors). The projector is able to display 4K UHD resolution (8.3 million pixels) via shifting the pixels on the 1080p chip both vertically and horizontally at 240Hz (240 times per second). This process is so fast the image displayed on the screen is classified as a 4K UHD resolution image.
Gaming Support
ULTIMEA’S customized image technology also provides seamless video without lag and an ultra-low latency of less than 25ms that refines clarity and fluidity in visuals, simulating the intricacies of human sight.
HDR
The Thor T60 supports Dolby Vision HDR which provides a more realistic viewing experience from compatible games, movies, and streaming video.
Audio
In addition to video display, the Thor T60 has an integrated two-channel audio system. However, for better sound (including Dolby Atmos-pass through), the T60 can also be connected via HDMI-eARC, Digital Optical, or analog output to an external soundbar or audio system.
From ULTIMEA Founder Bob Xiong: “Our mission with the ULTIMEA Thor T60 was to eliminate the barriers between viewers and an authentic cinematic experience. Most homes are limited by screen size, daytime brightness, or lackluster audio. With the Thor T60, we harnessed the power of the Tri-Color Laser Engine and MEMC dynamic compensation to ensure that every frame is a vivid work of art, regardless of ambient lighting. The integration of Dolby Atmos and Dolby Audio puts viewers right in the middle of the action for a truly immersive audio and visual experience. Thor T60 is more than a projector; it’s a revolution in home entertainment.“,
