Tsunami Introduces TS Series Speakers

HOLLY HILL, FLA., SEPTEMBER 26, 2007: Tsunami enters the mobile speaker market with the introduction of TS Series speakers, midwoofer and subwoofers.

Designed and constructed to extend the competition quality of the Tsunami brand to mobile audio products, the TS Series consists of nine speakers (including a triaxial and component system) ranging from 3.5″ to 6″x9″; one 8″ midwoofer; three subwoofers ranging from 10″ to 15″; and three TS Pro Series subwoofers in the same sizes.

TS Series Speakers
Each model in Tsunami’s TS Series speaker line features a black glass fiber cone and rubber surround for rigidity and lightness, as well as a 25mm KSV kapton voice coil, 5.4 oz. magnet and 13mm KSV neo silk tweeter. The TS-693SP 6″x9″ 3-way triaxial includes a 30mm KSV silk dome midrange. Making the appropriate exterior statement, TS Series speakers are distinguished by a heavy-duty stamped frame, an attractive PVC magnet protector and anodized back cover. All models except the TS-35SP 3.5″ 2-way coaxial and TS-65CSP 6.5″ component system also have a stylish PVC magnet protector and anodized back cover.

The remaining TS Series speaker models are: TS-40SP 4″ 2-way coaxial; TS-46SP 4″x6″ 2-way coaxial; TS-52SP 5.25″ 2-way coaxial; TS-57SP 5″x7″ 2-way coaxial; TS-65SP 6.5″ 2-way coaxial; and TS-69SP 6″x9″ 2-way coaxial.

The TS-65CSP 6.5″ component system consists of two 6.5″ midwoofer speakers with non-fatiguing butyl rubber surround, injected mica-filled ribbed poly cone, 1″ high-temperature voice coil on a kapton former, 13 oz. magnet and custom grilles. The pair of 1″ silk dome tweeters features a neodymium magnet structure, and provides a choice of mounting options. Its passive crossover network consists of a pair of 2-way passive crossovers, audiophile-quality film capacitors and inductors, gold-plated terminals — all in a compact design with a protective case.

TS Series Midwoofer
Tsunami’s TS-8W 8″ midwoofer is engineered to deliver the optimum low mid-range frequency needed to create an SQ award-worthy soundstage. The TS-8W has an injection-molded poly cone, inverted dust cap, multi composite foam surround, Nomex spider and a 2″ kapton voice coil. Result: impressive power handling of 200 WRMS/400 watts maximum.

TS Series Subwoofers
Available in standard and Pro models, Tsunami’s 10″, 12″ and 15″ subwoofers drop the bass with power and clarity. Standard features include: heavy-duty stamped steel frame; injection-molded poly cone; multi-composite foam surround (1.8mm thick; 25mm wide); four-layer, 2″ voice coil with patented high-temperature coating; black kapton high-temperature former; 7″ Nomex spider, extremely durable KDM tensile leads and push terminals. Built to withstand the requirements of competition applications, standard TS Series subwoofers are excellent for small sealed enclosures.

Pro model features include: heavy-duty cast aluminum basket with mesh vents for voice coil cooling; carbon-filled heavy-gauge poly cone; 25mm Santoprene rubber surround, four-layer 2″ dual 4-ohm voice coil, double-layer spider, extremely durable woven-in silver-plated tensile leads and push terminals. As with the standard models, Pro models are designed to meet the demands of competition applications.
