Tsunami Expands Product Line for 2007

HOLLY HILL, FL, JANUARY 9, 2007: Tsunami premium mobile electronics accessories is expanding its line of innovative, high-quality products for 2007 with new capacitors, distribution blocks, fuse holders, amp kits and spool speaker wires.

Increasing demand for competition-level accessories that deliver on both the performance and style front necessitated the product additions, said Bill Lauer, Metra Electronics’ Vice President of Mass Merchandising and New Product Development.

“The customer for high-end accessories wants good design as well as performance and reliability. Whether or not they’re on the competition or show circuit, consumers in this market spend a good amount of money on their mobile A/V equipment, so they want accessories that provide the total package.”

Lauer also noted that the exposure Tsunami products are receiving on Unique Whips — Speed TV’s hit reality show featuring master installer Will Castro’s Unique Autosports custom installation shop-to-the-stars — has greatly increased brand awareness. Metra Electronics, Tsunami’s parent company, is the series’ official mobile electronics accessories sponsor.

“Will’s clients expect only the best in their vehicles, so when people see Tsunami being installed, they notice. The market for high-end accessories has increasingly elaborate custom installations, and therefore a need for a wider product selection. We’re introducing new products that complement and expand upon existing lines to provide this choice.”

Tsunami’s new products for 2007 include:

V102CAP 2 farad capacitor — The latest entry in Tsunami’s CES Innovations Award-winning LiteWave Series, the V102CAP features a powerful 16/18 volt surge working voltage, current sensing automatic turn-on, automatic turn-off timer, high/low voltage warning and reverse voltage protection alarm. On the show side, it sets off installations with a chrome case, blue digital LCD volt meter and voltage-activated blue flashing chase LEDs.

FBW901-AGU and FBW901-MANL fuse holders — Tsunami’s new Competition Series fuse holders achieve an aerodynamic look for installations that soar in style and performance. Representing the perfection of an essential accessory to its highest possible level, both models feature distinctively designed clear acrylic housing with silver end caps and an easy-mount detachable base. Featuring bright nickel-plated finish and hardware, the water-resistant fuse holders will achieve optimal results with Tsunami premium battery cable.
