August 2006: U.S. loudspeaker company, THIEL Audio, will be featuring prototypes of the much anticipated, floor-standing CS3.7, along with the award-winning surface-mount PowerPoint 1.2, MCS1 center-channel, and two SS1 SmartSubs in a multichannel music/home theater system being demonstrated at this year’s CEDIA Expo in Denver, CO, September 14-17, booth SR-18. THIEL will also be previewing a non-active prototype of the new SCS4 LCR, targeted for the $1000 each price range. All these models are part of the THIEL’s complete line of loudspeakers designed as the ultimate solution for home theater and music sound systems.
CS3.7/SmartSub System Demonstrations Conducted Throughout CEDIA
The THIEL CS3.7/SmartSub system will be available for CEDIA attendees to experience throughout the show in booth SR-18. Product designer Jim Thiel says that the CS3.7 is “the most significant product introduction from THIEL in at least ten years” and represents the latest and greatest of his innovations, which have a long reputation for being cutting edge.
Unusual cabinet construction using curved sides and an aluminum dome and back as well as the CS3.7’s radical and unique driver technology are at the heart of this exciting new product that promises to be superior to almost every loudspeaker on the market at this time. This new approach to driver design allows both the CS3.7 midrange and tweeter to operate as near-perfect pistons and deliver pure, distortion free sound that provides the listener with an experience approaching the excitement of a live musical performance. The CS3.7 is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2006.
The model SS1 is THIEL’s smallest SmartSub subwoofer. The SS1 is part of the line of subwoofer products designed as the ultimate solution for bass reproduction in home theater and music sound systems. This family of ultra-high performance SmartSub bass systems–the SS1, SS2, SS3, and SS4 subwoofers, SmartSub Integrator, and PX02 and PX05 Passive Crossovers–redefine the category to offer the most seamless and realistic low frequency reproduction possible.
The $2900 SS1 utilizes a 500 watt amplifier and one long throw 10″ woofer in a compact 20″ H x 11″ W x 15.5″ D, 55 pound cabinet with an output of up to 99dB of output at 20 Hz and up to 106 dB at 30 Hz, an exceptional amount of output for a subwoofer its size
SCS4 CEDIA Press Conference: Get a preview of the new SCS4:
THIEL will be holding a press conference previewing the new SCS4 on Wednesday, September 13th, at 4:00 PM in the CEDIA Press Conference Room (Rm. 304) in the Colorado Convention Center. Please RSVP by Thursday, August 31st, 2006 to Micah Sheveloff, WIRC Media Tactics, 203-795-3141, wirc1@earthlink.net.
The 17.5″ tall and 8.5″ wide SCS4 is a versatile, two-way, bookshelf-sized speaker system uniquely suited for outstanding front, rear, or center channel use regardless of listener position or speaker location. The SCS4’s high output capability and very high 90dB efficiency perfectly meet the demands of today’s home theater systems, and its innovative, advanced driver design, based on product designer Jim Thiel’s 30 year-experience, provides extremely realistic sonic reproduction.
“The SCS4’s high efficiency, magnetic shielding, narrow shape, and very accurate reproduction make it perfect for use as a high performance center or rear channel speaker in home theater and multi-channel systems, ” says company president Kathy Gornik. “However, the SCS4 is a remarkable all-purpose, full-range speaker as comfortable in demanding music systems as it is reproducing movie soundtracks. And we are able to offer it at a much more affordable price than previous THIEL models.”
The SCS4’s final suggested retail price and shipping date are TBA, but we will have a non-active SCS4 prototype on display at the conference and in our exhibit room, SR-18, for you to see, so please plan to come by for a first look.
