At the 2022 IFA (the European version of CES held in Berlin, Germany, TCL displayed its latest XL QLED TV Collection designated for the European market.
The new TCL XL QLED TV Collection includes models with screen sizes over 75-inches. TCL states that XL Collection TVs will fit many budgets and exceed expectations for home entertainment. The larger screen sizes of the XL Collection are designed to deliver more impactful, more immersive, and more engaging visual experiences.
Tip: TCL TV Global and European Model numbers include the letter “C” while U.S. model numbers include “R” or “S” depending model series.
C735 Series
The largest set in the XL Collection is the 98C735. Core features include a 98-inch diagonal screen, Google TV OS smart platform supported by QLED display technology for an extended wide color gamut, and 4K UHD resolution.
TCL claims that if you sit about 3 meters (a little less than 9 feet) from the C735’s screen, you will able to experience the same 60-degree field of view as watching a 30-meter size screen from the middle row and center seats at a movie theater.
A similar 98-inch model was first introduced in the North American market earlier this year. What is interesting is that the US and North American markets usually don’t get new models first and sometimes are left out entirely by some brands. That being said, it is nice to see Europe and other markets catch up in this area for a change.
Tip: For all the details of the North American version, refer to our previous article: CES 2022: TCL Previews 98-inch QLED 4K TV and 85-inch 8K TV – Just keep in mind that there are different OTA tuners and streaming app selections between the North American and European versions.
In addition to the 98C735, TCL also offers the same TV with a 75-inch screen in the XL Collection, the 75C735.
TCL C935 & C835
In addition to the C735 series, the XL Collection also includes the 75C935 and 75C835 TVs which implement Mini LED backlighting for improved picture quality. With thousands of Mini LED lights, these XL Collection TVs display HDR content at their best by delivering incredible brightness with richer light and shadows. C935’s 1,920 Local Dimming Zones also ensure brilliant blacks, bright whites, vivid colors, and even fine definitions in images.
X925 PRO
TCL’s 85-inch X925 PRO is a CES Best of Innovation award winner and features TCL OD Zero Mini LED technology and 8K resolution for stunning details and clarity.

XL Collection TVs support most HDR formats including Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10, and HDR10+.
Gaming

With their large screens, XL series TVs provide an immersive sports experience. TCL has partnerships with FIBA and the EuroBasket tournament, and 2022 football ambassadors with Brazil’s Rodrygo, England’s Phil Foden, Raphael Varane for France, and the rising Spanish star, Pedri.
Frame Design
To round things off, the TCL XL QLED TV Collection incorporates a frameless (no bezel) design that fits easily into any interior and ensures maximum picture view for an immersive viewing experience without distraction.
Soundbars
Along with the European/Global XL TV Collection, TCL is also adding to its soundbar line-up (no word if these models will make it to the US).
The soundbars are part of TCL’s RAY•DANZ technology line and carry the X937U and C935U model numbers. The C937U incorporates a 7.1.4 channel configuration, while the C935U features 5.1.2 channels. The soundbars are designed to deliver wider more immersive sound for Dolby Atmos and DTS: X.
