SVS today introduced three new 2000 Pro Series subwoofers. Each boasts an all-new 12-inch high-excursion SVS driver and a potent 550 watts RMS, 1,500+ watts peak power Sledge STA-550D amplifier with discrete MOSFET output for effortless, room-energizing bass with pinpoint control and accuracy.
Comprised of the SB-2000 Pro sealed cabinet, PB-2000 Pro ported cabinet, and PC-2000 Pro ported cylinder cabinet models, each new SVS subwoofer features advancements to the driver, amplifier, cabinet and overall user experience that outpace anything available in the industry. SVS says the result is deep and thunderous low frequency output below the threshold of human hearing, with accuracy in frequency response and crisp speed in transients, at a breakthrough price.
Tip: The new 2000 Pro Series replace the 2000 Series (non-pro) models from 2014, which include the SB-2000, PB-2000, and PC-2000.
Powering the 2000 Pro Series is a commanding and sophisticated Sledge STA-550D amplifier that combines the high current output of discrete MOSFETs with Class D efficiency. Boasting an impressive 550 watts RMS and 1,500+ watts peak power and vanishingly low distortion, the unique design unleashes nearly limitless on-demand power while maintaining precise driver control, so the 2000 Pro Series can play effortlessly at reference levels and still achieve accurate frequency response.
Harnessing the massive power of the Sledge amplifier is a 50 MHz Analog Devices Audio DSP with 56-bit filtering, the most sophisticated DSP engine ever used in a home subwoofer. The abundant processing power maintains pristine sound quality that’s true to the source material through advanced in-room tuning, optimized frequency response curves, powerful DSP controls and more.
Drivers in the SVS 2000 Pro subwoofers are completely new designs and built for serious output as well as finesse and accuracy. The proprietary SVS design features a dual ferrite magnet motor assembly with long-throw parabolic surround for extreme excursion with room-pressurizing SPLs. A lightweight and rigid aluminum vented cone with composite fiber dustcap moves immense amounts of air to create tactile sonic energy without losing control. The result is accurate response, even at the most intense listening levels.
Launched originally with the flagship SVS 16-Ultra subwoofers, the 2000 Pro also features convenient control and custom presets via the SVS subwoofer DSP smartphone app for Apple, Android and Amazon devices. The SVS app is the most convenient way to control volume, access multiple DSP functions and program custom presets for one-touch tuning optimized for music, movies, gaming, and more. Uses can also adjust crossover frequencies, a three-band parametric EQ, polarity, room gain and more, all from their favorite seat.
The SVS subwoofer app also allows advanced customization so you can name your subwoofer for easy preset switching, choose the subwoofer standby mode and reset the subwoofer to factory settings. Bluetooth connectivity allows full control, even when the subwoofer is out of sight and bi-directional feedback shows adjustments in real time on both the app and rear panel subwoofer interface.
Subwoofers capable of such extreme performance levels require equally formidable cabinet designs so the 2000 Pro Series are built with an extra thick MDF front baffle and rigid internal bracing to support the drive unit and to ensure an acoustically inert environment. The highly reinforced internal design eliminates any chance of coloration or resonance from the cabinet, even when the deepest low frequencies are played at reference levels.
“Our engineers obsessed over making the 2000 Pro Series a truly breakout product line since we’re replacing the most popular subwoofer models in our company’s history,” said Gary Yacoubian, SVS President and Managing Partner. “We reimagined every aspect of the 2000 Pro design, from driver and amp to cabinet and control. By deploying the most advanced technology from our flagship models with new innovations, we’ve achieved reference performance at a lower price range than ever before. They are a true reflection of the passion we have for creating world-class audio experiences.”
Yacoubian continued, “More people than ever can now enjoy astonishing output, deep bass extension below the limits of human hearing, pinpoint accuracy and all the immersive thrills of a world-class subwoofer.”
