Cinema Ribbon Trios Offer Amazing On-Wall Speaker Solutions
CES Las Vegas, NV January 8, 2007 — Sunfire Corp., a specialist in the design, manufacture and marketing of luxury home theater goods for the custom installation and custom retail markets, will debut their new Cinema Ribbon Trio line, compact on-wall loudspeakers that defy the laws of physics. Following numerous industry firsts in the company’s history, the Cinema Ribbon CRS-3 and companion CRS-3C center channel are destined to rewrite the rules as Sunfire has done many times before.
The two new Cinema Ribbon loudspeakers follow the highly successful debut of Sunfire’s Cinema Ribbon Duos (CRM-2 and CRM-2C) launched at CEDIA 2006. All are part of Sunfire’s XT-Series, a special collection of the legendary brand’s finest products. The CRS-3 ($1000 each MSRP) is intended for use as left and right channels while the CRS-3C ($1250 each MSRP) is designed for center channel applications. Both models will be shipping in March, 2007.
The Sunfire Cinema Ribbon loudspeakers were conceived and designed based on the extensive psychoacoustic research conducted by Sunfire founder and industry legend Bob Carver. The front-firing ribbon creates amazing detail with controlled dispersion to eliminate unwanted reflections off the ceiling and floor. Low frequencies are handled by three 4.5″ High Back-emf woofers (four on the CRM-2C) that are based on Sunfire’s award-winning subwoofers. Moreover, the Cinema Ribbon Trios deliver extraordinary performance and lifelike imaging without any aesthetic compromise or sacrifice of floor space.
“Response to the launch of our Cinema Ribbon Duos this past fall has been nothing short of amazing and we didn’t intend to stop there.” explained Sunfire General Manager Mark Weisenberg. “Sunfire’s new Cinema Ribbon Trios take our design philosophy to flat panel displays with a new level of performance for on-wall speakers. Both speaker lines, along with our new SubRosa In-Wall and In-Room subwoofers, offer highly compelling, aesthetically-pleasing speaker systems for the discriminating listener.”
The CRS-3 handles up to 450 watts of power. Yet despite its astonishing power handling capability, the CRS-3 boasts a sensitivity rating of 90dB and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms. The Cinema Ribbon Trios are well-suited for both critical music listening as well as lifelike home theater and are ideally matched with Sunfire’s new SubRosa subwoofers.
The CRS-3C center channel speaker utilizes the same 4.5″ High Back-emf drivers in a 2-½ way “tapered array” and 6″ ribbon as the CRS-3. The tapered array design drastically reduces the combing effects found in other multi-driver configurations while keeping the ribbon centered for accurate dialog localization. The CRS-3 and CRS-3C are both finished in gorgeous, hand-rubbed ebonized rosewood. Both models also feature a handy boundary compensation switch that allows the user to easily tailor the sound for the specific room or placement.
The two new Cinema Ribbon Trio models build upon the highly successful debut of Sunfire’s Cinema Ribbon Duos (CRM-2 and CRM-2C) launched at CEDIA 2006. Billed as floorstanding speakers without the floor, the Cinema Ribbons have generated considerable enthusiasm among Sunfire dealers and the media. In fact, the CRM-2 was chosen for the prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering award by CES and will be on display at the Innovations exhibit throughout the show.
The Cinema Ribbon speakers and SubRosa subwoofers are all part of Sunfire’s XT-Series, a special collection of the legendary brand’s finest products.
