Company Continues Its Expansion into $53 Billion LCD Monitor and TV Market
SOYO Group, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board:SOYO), a leading global provider of computer peripheral devices, consumer electronics and broadband telecommunications products, today announced the launch of its new Dymond wide-screen, HD (high definition) ready LCD TVs. Available in 32- and 37-inch screen sizes, SOYO’s Dymond LCD televisions expand the company’s line of LCD display offerings, which also includes the Dymond series of 17- and 19-inch monitors.
The market for LCD monitors and TVs reached $53 billion in 2004, a 42% increase from 2003, according to the research firm iSuppli. SOYO’s expansion in this market builds on the company’s long and successful history as a developer of motherboards and graphics-related peripherals, and leverages SOYO’s strong manufacturing, distribution and retail sales networks. SOYO’s Dymond LCD TVs offer a variety of input options to deliver multimedia entertainment, including DVI, D-Sub, Component A/V, S-Video and Composite A/V, for connecting DVD or VHS players, video game consoles and computers. Featuring 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i capabilities, consumers can enjoy viewing HD and standard broadcast, cable and satellite television programming, as well as progressive-scan DVDs. The TVs can also be used as a computer screen, enabling consumers to use normal computer applications with a superior display.
The 16:9 aspect ratio delivers wide-screen movie theater quality video, and the viewing angles of 176 degrees horizontal and 176 degrees vertical enable everyone to enjoy a clear picture from almost any angle. Additional features include 1200:1 contrast ratio and 1366 x 768 resolution for sharp images and vivid color, and 8ms response time for clear fast-action video. “Strategically, SOYO’s Dymond LCD TVs position us for success in the growing global market for LCD TV sets and monitors as unit volumes continue to increase,” said Mr. Ming Chok, president and CEO of SOYO Group, Inc. “Our Dymond LCD TVs offer a combination of performance and design at a competitive price that is very appealing to consumers looking to upgrade from their old CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) TVs to new multifunction models that offer a variety of entertainment options.”
The 32-inch Dymond LCD TV weighs just 48 lbs., and the 37-inch model weights just 59 lbs. Both models can be wall-mounted to add floor space and update the decor of any room in the house.
The 37-inch model also features a built-in media reader compatible with Memory Stick, SM, SD, CF, CFII and MMC formats, for viewing digital photos in high resolution and stunning color.
MSRP for the Dymond 32-inch TV is $1599, and list price for the 37-inch is $2499. Each includes a remote control, power cables and user manual, and will ship to authorized SOYO dealers and distributors in July.
