Sony announced an optional touchscreen update for their VAIO T Series 14 and Series 15 Ultrabooks for use with Windows 8. The T Series incorporates Sony’s innovative digital imaging and audio technologies, and packs high performance and mobility into an ultra-smooth, full-flat brushed aluminum and magnesium chassis
The VAIO T Series Ultrabook is available with a 13.3-inch, 14-inch or 15-inch display, and the latest generation Ultra Low Voltage Intel Core processors. The Ultrabook comes with an optional Solid State Drive or Hybrid drive, providing the best of both worlds, using new Intel Smart Response Technology.
With all the built-in ports and connectivity that other Ultrabook laptops may lack, the VAIO T Series has two USB ports including a charging function for mobile devices, HDMI out, VGA, Ethernet, Memory Stick and SD Card Reader for easy connection to monitors, projectors without the need for a dongle.
Pricing and Availability
The new touch enabled VAIO T Series 14 and T Series 15 will be available in Spring 2013 for about $800 and $950. The VAIO T Series 13 is currently available with the touchscreen option for $100 more, but sheds the optical drive.
