Sony’s Select Series Line Injects High Style Into Portable Music For The Discerning Male Listener
SAN DIEGO, June 29, 2004 – You have the car. You have the clothes and now you can get the ultimate personal audio products. Sony Electronics has hand-picked a high-performance and high-style personal audio collection for the most discerning male in its Select Series.
The products’ streamlined designs and advanced features provide an outstanding listening experience, while both complementing and enhancing the masculine look.
The Select Series encompasses four top-of-the-line digital music players, including an ATRAC CD Walkman player, a Hi-MD Walkman player, a Network Walkman Digital Music Player and an FM Stereo Radio Walkman Player.
Elegant black packaging and a clean, distinctive design separate this Select Series from others on the shelf.
“Today’s man is more demanding of his electronic devices,” said Brennan Mullin, a Sony product manager. “He wants top performance, but not at the expense of style. This is especially true for his personal audio products.”
MZ-NH1 Hi-MD Walkman Digital Music Player
The Select Series couldn’t declare having the best of everything unless it included a Hi-MD Walkman digital music player. Hi-MD Walkman digital music players allow you to record up to 45 hours of music compressed at 48 kilobits per second with up to 100 times transfer speed on one, 1 GB disc. Removable, re-recordable, Hi-MD media provides all the storage capacity you need to build an infinite library of your favorite songs.
The graceful and chic MZ-NH1 model boasts a full magnesium body and ultra-compact shape. It has a mic-in feature – ideal for travelers who like to capture fleeting thoughts with a self-recording, and then upload the content to a PC.
This model also comes with a three-line backlit LCD remote and Sony’s Jog Dial navigation system, offering a single-hand way to scroll through play-lists and songs. The elegant charging cradle makes for convenient charging of the supplied rechargeable battery. The MZ-NH1 model will be available next month for about $400.
DN-E10 ATRAC CD Walkman Player
Sony also invited the D-NE10 ATRAC CD Walkman into the Select Series collection because it is among the thinnest and sexiest CD Walkman players. It has a magnesium and aluminum body. It also sports an ultra-modern, metallic silver design, making it perfect for music fans who like to burn their own CDs. Users will benefit from ATRAC technology, which enables up to 490 4-minute songs to be compressed on a single CD-R/RW disc at 48 kbps.
The D-NE10 model provides up to 80 hours of continuous playback on a rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) battery, while a backlit remote puts music navigation at the user’s fingertips. The player also comes supplied with a battery-charging stand and a carrying pouch. It is available now for about $200.
NW-MS90D Network Walkman Digital Music Player
The Network Walkman digital music player is also part of the Select club. The tiny NW-MS90D model offers 512MB of built-in memory and has a Memory Stick Duo flash media slot, which provides additional expansion when used with the minute media card. Because of its slick design and compact titanium body, the Network Walkman player can be worn like a sophisticated accessory. And since it has no moving parts, active consumers will enjoy a completely skip-free digital listening experience even when they are on the move.
The Network Walkman player is easy to navigate thanks to its brilliant backlit LCD display. It comes supplied with a neck strap, SonicStage Jukebox music management software, and a USB cradle for simple PC connection and recharging. Its internal battery provides up to 44 hours of continuous playback.
The NW-MS90D Network Walkman model is available now for about $400.
Walkman Digital Tuning FM Ear Clip Headphone Radio
With a new “wearable” ear clip design, the SRF-MQ11 rounds out the Select Series. This Walkman radio simplifies the notion of radio on the go, as it slides right over the ears for a comfortable listening experience.
A convenient one-button tuning feature offers a 15-station preset memory, and a Mega Bass Sound System produces deep, rich bass tones. The SRF-MQ11 is also available now for about $70.
