The CI market continues to expand in 2023 with a wide range of in-wall and in-ceiling loudspeakers from brands like KEF, Perlisten, Monitor Audio, and Sonus faber.
The Italian loudspeaker manufacturer moved into the lifestyle and automotive categories during the pandemic with the Omnia wireless speaker system, and multiple car audio systems in partnership with Maserati.
The company has offered in-wall loudspeaker systems for almost three years but the Sonus faber Arena was something that we spied during our factory tour in Italy and were sworn to secrecy.
The Sonus faber Arena, represents the heritage brand’s latest custom installation speaker collection offering incredible sonic performance, packaged in the refined Italian design associated with Sonus faber’s artisans. Arena combines Sonus faber’s signature natural sound with the dynamics and power required for home cinema.
That build and sound quality also comes with a rather hefty asking price.
The newest addition to the Sonus faber Arena collection, first unveiled in 2022 as the best-in-class speakers for home entertainment systems, the Arena 10 is the in-ceiling model to complement the rest of the Arena CI-FI (Custom Installation High-Fidelity) family.
Equipped with four 6.5-in woofers, a 19mm tweeter and a 6.25-inch midrange, the Arena 10’s 3-way speaker delivers a fully-immersive at-home Dolby Atmos experience – the perfect addition to finalize any home theater surround sound experience.
The Arena 10 is easy to install into any theater or home system via its new bracket installation system, as well as the option of a frame installation system like other Arena collection models.
A quick look at the dimensions reveals that the Sonus faber Arena 10 are rather large in-ceiling loudspeakers measuring 24″W x 24″H x 5.8″D (5.8″ mounting depth) and certainly on the heavier side at 55 pounds apiece.
The Sonus faber Arena 10 is now available through authorized Sonus faber dealers for $7,000 USD per pair.
Graphite Heritage Collection
Sonus faber set High-End Munich 2023 ablaze with its new Stradivari G2 floorstanding loudspeaker which retails for $50,000 USD, but that’s not where the brand sees the most success in terms of sales.
The Heritage collection is still on the expensive side but there is no question that dealers move a lot of these loudspeakers; especially the Electa Amator III that are one of the most beautiful stand-mounted loudspeakers available.
Sonus faber’s new Graphite finish adds another sophisticated color option to the brand’s popular heritage collection, enhancing the beauty of the Electa Amator III, Minima Amator II and Maxima Amator speakers.
The walnut panels of each speaker are finished with a deep graphite color that matches each speaker’s polished steel inlays, alongside matte-black Marquina marble detailing on each model’s base.
The new Sonus faber Heritage Graphite collection is now available through authorized Sonus faber dealers – with MSRP set at $16,000 USD for the Maxima, $10,000 USD for the Electa Amator III (Marquina stand sold separately for $1,700 USD), and $5,000 USD for the Minima Amator II (Marquina stand sold separately for $1,700 USD).
