MIRAMAR, FL – August 2006 — SIM2 USA, through their parent company SIM2 Multimedia, the leading manufacturer of home theater video projectors, has begun shipping the highly anticipated HT3000 single-chip 1080p front projector. The HT3000 is capable of displaying 1080p source material, such as the new HD-DVD and Blu-Ray formats, at full-resolution, and features a 10-bit internal deinterlacer and scaling engine for optimal performance with other video sources, including DVD, 1080i and 720p HDTV, and standard definition cable or satellite transmissions.

“We are pleased to announce immediate availability of the HT3000 to the dealers and consumers who have anxiously awaited its arrival since we demonstrated it at the 2006 CES,” said Maurizio Cini, CEO of SIM2 Multimedia. “In the constant pursuit of excellence, last year we proudly introduced our Grand Cinema C3X series, which has become an industry leader for three-chip DLP front projection. Now, the HT3000 completes our Grand Cinema HT line as our flagship single-chip DLP projector, offering consumers the highest degree of cinema realism for any home theater installation.”

SIM2’s HT3000 employs the newly introduced 0.95-inch 1080p DarkChip3 DMD chipset and end-to-end 10-bit video processing in combination with SIM2’s proprietary Alpha Path light engine for true 1080p resolution (1920×1080) in an attractive and compact housing. It employs a new 7-segment (RGBRGB + Natural Density Filter) color wheel and a 200-watt high output lamp rated at a full 4000 hour lifespan to achieve remarkable color depth and fidelity with a contrast ratio of > 5,000:1 (Full ON/ Full OFF.) SIM2 live color management and gamma control functions are included to allow the projector to be customized for optimal performance in any theater environment, and with a variety of screens. Video performance is further enhanced with the company’s new Dynamic Noise Reduction and Spatial Noise Reduction processing. As with all SIM2 projectors, video settings are customizable for each individual input for optimization with multiple source components in a single theater system.

The HT3000 features two HDCP-compliant HDMI inputs, as well as VGA, component, composite, and S-Video inputs to accommodate a full range of video sources. RS-232 and IR input jacks are included to simplify integration with whole house control systems, and there are two 12V trigger outputs to control motorized screens and other support equipment.

In addition to standard 16:9, 4:3, LetterBox, and pixel-to-pixel settings, the HT3000 includes three custom user settings for additional aspect ratio adjustments. Among other uses, this feature can be used in conjunction with the company’s newly-introduced Home Cinema “Scope” System anamorphic lenses to display video at a full 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Using this system, the “letterbox” black bars present at the top and bottom of conventional systems are eliminated, resulting in improved brightness and detail and allowing for the constant-height screen systems favored by many home theater enthusiasts.

The SIM2 HT3000 includes a high quality lens with a throw ratio of 1.5-2.0:1, and is currently available at a suggested retail price of $15,995. The HT3000 will also be available with an optional long-throw 2.0-3.0:1 ratio lens in October at a suggested retail price of $16,995.
