SIEL 2005
Programme for a rich edition
SIEL will open its doors from 6th to 9th February for its 23rd edition, celebrating innovation, change and information:
4 Change because SIEL now represents two very distinctive and separate trade shows: SIEL Spectacle and SIEL Nuit, each with its own level and separate entrance. More complete, more specific, these two worlds are nevertheless highly complementary.
4 Innovation because SIEL is the only European trade show to offer a complete vision of all levels of equipment, products, procedures, systems and services linked to the world of Entertainment, Events, Night and Music.
4 Information: SIEL also means conferences, debates, themed discussions and areas where visitors can come and gather information about many different subjects…
SIEL Spectacle with many facets…
SIEL Spectacle is of course the major diary date for Audio Pro. Many new products will be presented in this field and an important conference will be organised by Sono Magazine on Monday 7th February. This conference will highlight new technologies for audio signal transportation: Ethersound and Cobranet networks. These technologies are tools which sound professionals must master in the near future.
In the Lighting sector, the spotlight will be on LEDs, these semi-conducting light sources which now offer many advantages (long life-span, highly reliable, economical, low maintenance fees, reduced sizes, etc).
The SYNAPSE (Union of Technical Service Providers for Entertainment and Events) regroups the biggest players in the entertainment market. They will all be at SIEL with the companies which bear the label of Service Providers for Live Entertainment on 6th December to discuss the collective agreement currently under negotiation.
For the first time, SIEL Spectacle is creating its Parcours du Cinema, meeting the demands of many professionals. The Parcours du Cinema will introduce them to all the exhibitors who have a part to play in the cinema market (lighting, sound, machinery, special effects, scenery, etc.)
Entertainment and Event professionals will also be able to visit the Pole Organisme, a venue entirely dedicated to information and training. The main bodies (legal, retirement and insurance, statutes, etc.) will be there to advise and inform visitors.
Prevention and DJ-ing at SIEL Nuit
Prevention is more than ever at the centre of debate in the world of night-time entertainment. SIEL Nuit is looking to attract the attention of the profession with its Pole Prevention. This year, the Village is divided into three sectors to cover many themes:
* UMIH (Union of Hotel Professions and Industries) will highlight risk prevention linked to blood alcohol concentration (tests, road prevention, snack food, etc), and the fight against drug addiction.
* CSCAD (Union of Artistic Cabarets) will discuss health and hygiene themes (hearing risk prevention, reinforcing the Evin Law in venues, information about noise levels, etc.). SNEG will represent the community in the world of night-time entertainment.
* The Road Safety Department (DSCR) will be present to heighten visitor awareness and find solutions to be implemented in establishments open at night.
For its 23rd edition, SIEL Night has created the Univers du Bar where trendy products and innovations can be found; professionals will be able to distinguish themselves (decoration, bar staff agencies, new original drinks, etc.) and also find out how to improve the profitability of their business. The Espace Bar Culture will offer professional bartending and “mixology” demonstrations and will be the venue for the grand finale of the “Mixing Zone”, the international cocktail competition organised by Wyborowa on Monday 7th February at 2.30pm.
This year, SIEL Nuit is developing its Music and DJ-ing area. The major brands will present the latest innovations in terms of equipment and visitors will be able to try them out. For the first time in the Univers de la Nuit, a large conference will be dedicated to the world of DJ-ing, presenting new technologies and openings in this very particular profession…
The UCPA-AMS, a DJ-ing college recognised by the State, will set up a Training Area at the show. Visitors can learn how to mix and find out everything they want to know about the DJ profession and the opportunities to be had.
Following last year, the record labels have decided to organise themselves in a Village des Labels. Access is reserved for invited guests on 7th and 8th February, but the Village des Labels will be open to everyone on Sunday 6th and Wednesday 9th February.
And finally, thanks to the partnership signed between SIEL and Radio FG, Antoine Baduel will broadcast his “Happy Hour” show live from SIEL on Tuesday 8th February between 6pm and 8pm during the exibition’s late opening hours.
After more than 20 years in existence, SIEL is still working to satisfy professional expectations and anticipate requirements. For its 23rd edition, SIEL 2005 will take place from 6th to 9th February 2005 in Hall 5 at Paris Expo Exhibition Centre, Porte de Versailles.
