Savant Enlists Legendary Theater Builder Theo Kalomirakis for SoHo NYC Design Center

Design Center to feature 800 Sq. Ft. state-of-the-art dedicated theater

Osterville, MA. August 26th, 2009–Savant Systems LLC, having led the convergence of an open architecture platform to integrate automation and control, A/V switching, and general purpose computers, has announced that the company has enlisted the services of Theo Kalomirakis Theaters of New York City to design and build a dedicated home theater within their lower Manhattan Design Center.

The 7500 square foot showcase in New York City’s affluent SoHo district will incorporate two fully automated spaces–one with a commercial focus and the other residential–providing Savant’s authorized dealers with an elegant real-life demonstration environment within the heart of Manhattan.

Theo Kalomirakis Theaters has become legendary for their residential theater designs, having completed hundreds of theater projects all over the world. Kalomirakis and his design team have been working closely with Savant to create an environment that addresses the company’s aesthetic preferences while delivering an authentic theater experience. Theo Kalomirakis Theaters brings over 20 years of experience to all aspects of the project, including lighting, acoustics, sightlines, seating, audio-video installation, and various other related areas in theater design. “As a rule, the client’s expectations are the starting point for the design of our theaters,” Kalomirakis explained. “With Savant’s design center, we are integrating some of most advanced automation and entertainment technology into a single, exquisite dedicated theater. My team and I are excited about the opportunity to work with Savant,” he added.

The residential portion of the design center is slated to open in October of this year with a festive launch party to follow. The commercial space is expected to debut in Q1, 2010. Savant’s residential showcase will feature a fully automated master bedroom and bathroom, music/piano area, media room and a fully functional kitchen by Dahlia Kitchen Design. Interior design work is being handled by Thom Filicia, Inc. and complete lighting design will be provided by Sylvia Bistrong from ISP Design, Inc.
