Sangoma Brings Global PSTN Connectivity to FreeSWITCH

— ClueCon to Unveil Improved FreeSWITCH PSTN Capabilities —

TORONTO, CANADA (July 23, 2008) Sangoma¥ Technologies Corporation (TSXV: STC), the premium provider of PC-based hardware and software for proprietary and open source networking and telephony, announced today that it will be integrating its tested TDM stacks including BRI, PRI, SS7 with FreeSWITCH. This will enable FreeSWITCH to reliably connect to PSTN networks all over the world.

This is great news for the FreeSWITCH community. The years of collaborative work between FreeSWITCH developers and Sangoma have finally paid off, said Anthony Minessale, Primary Author and Lead Developer of FreeSWITCH. This will greatly grow the FreeSWITCH community by generating further interest from the PSTN side.

FreeSWITCH formerly only used its own Open Source stacks for PSTN access. The Sangoma stacks make FreeSWITCH commercially reliable to service the global market using Sangoma hardware. Speaking as a Platinum Sponsor of ClueCon 2008 (August 5-7 in Chicago), Nenad Corbic, Chief Software Engineer of Sangoma, will kick off the conference by discussing how developers can take advantage of FreeSWITCH’s new level of PSTN connectivity.

We believe this makes FreeSWITCH an excellent choice for connecting to the PSTN, said Corbic.

Sangoma will continue to be very active in the support of FreeSWITCH and Open Source projects in general, said David Mandelstam, Sangoma’s President and CEO. Our company was sewn by open source enthusiasts, and it will always be part of our fabric.
