Compact and Portable Netbook Keeps Users Connected

AT&T and Samsung Electronics America, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, today announced the upcoming availability of the Samsung Go™, a compact and lightweight netbook with instant access to broadband speeds powered by the nation’s fastest 3G network and the Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition operating system.

The Samsung Go (model N310), weighing just 2.8 lbs., is a portable powerhouse that can easily be stored in a briefcase or travel bag. The Go’s midnight blue color and slim, soft texture design with rounded edges makes a statement and stands out from the crowd. The pebble-style keyboard makes typing comfortable with larger than average spacing. The brilliant LED-backlit, borderless glass display is scratch resistant and provides users with photo-like image quality, greater viewing angles and better text legibility, reducing eye strain and boosting productivity.

AT&T offers two AT&T DataConnect plans for netbooks, including a 200MB plan option for a newly reduced price of $35 per month or a 5GB plan for $60 per month. AT&T DataConnect plans offer consumer and small business subscribers access to the nation’s fastest 3G network, along with free use of AT&T Wi-Fi service, featuring more than 20,000 hot spots nationwide.

“Demand for netbooks remains strong among consumers, small business customers and those who desire constant access to the Internet while on the go,” said David Haight, vice president, business development, AT&T Mobility. “Paired with the nation’s fastest 3G network, AT&T Wi-Fi service, and now the value and ease of use of Windows 7, these devices will make very attractive and affordable gifts this holiday season.”

Equipped with a standard 4-cell 4000Ah battery, users can stay connected for up to 4 hours on a single battery charge and the built-in Intel Atom processor delivers the power and performance needed for full Internet capabilities anytime, anywhere. With a host of advanced connectivity tools, including a 3-in-1 memory card reader and 3 x USB 2.0 ports, you can seamlessly move data from a digital camera, camcorder, MP3 player or PDA straight to the Samsung Go’s voluminous 160GB hard disk drive.

“Samsung is excited to bring our popular Samsung Go to AT&T customers,” said Douglas Albregts, vice president of sales and marketing for Samsung Electronics America, Information Technology Division. “The portable, lightweight design and robust feature set of the Samsung Go allows users to stay connected whenever, wherever. The Go makes everything from updating your social networking sites to surfing the Web or even catching up on work e-mails, fast and fun.”
