Runco Launches Three New Flat Panels for the Custom Home Theater Display Market

The CX-52HD, CX-57HD, and XP-50DHD provide unsurpassed video performance and demonstrate Runco’s strategy to deliver large-diagonal flat-panels at higher resolutions.

Denver, CO — CEDIA EXPO 2007 — September 6, 2007 — Booth 510 — Runco International, the leaders in home video display and technology, today introduced two high-performance 1080p LCDs and one new 1080p plasma display to its flat panel lineup.

“Our new flat panels provide the superb home entertainment performance our dealers and customers expect from Runco,” said Scott Hix, vice president and general manager, Planar Systems Inc. Home Theater. “These models up the ante for flat-panel performance in the world’s finest home theaters.”

The Crystal Portfolio CX-52HD and CX-57HD are 52-inch and 57-inch 1080p LCD flat panels, respectively. They offer state-of-the-art performance and a generous feature set, including Runco’s exclusive Vivix processing for outstanding imagery, artifact-free scaling and pristine reproduction of both native film and video formats. The models also include the complete Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) calibration suite to deliver the absolute best image possible under multiple viewing conditions. Integration capabilities include an RS-232 automation interface with discrete on/off, input selection and aspect ratio control. The CX-52DHD offers premium integrated audio systems that complement its included NTSC/ATSC tuners and offer 10W RMS power per channel. Both displays include detachable two-way speaker systems to facilitate custom installations with separate, dedicated audio systems. The new Crystal Portfolio models each include two HDMI inputs with HDCP and are finished with high-quality anodized aluminum frames in black, similar to Runco’s award-winning LCD displays.

Built upon the company’s best-selling 65-inch XP-65DHD platform, the XP-50DHD joins Runco’s PlasmaView line, substantially improving picture quality from other manufacturer’s displays because of its video processing, superb contrast ratio and deep black levels. The XP-50DHD features sophisticated 16-bit digital video processing, resulting in 4,096 steps of graduation for seamless images, discrete multiple aspect ratio control, including VirtualWide for viewing 4:3 content in widescreen without picture degradation, ISF calibration modes, and elite THX certification for the best possible image. Runco’s next-generation, external DHD with HDMI Digital Video Controller/Processor provides a pure digital signal path from input to output as well as a broad array of video input choices. It is also available in a high-altitude model, XP-50DHDxa.

Available exclusively through Runco dealers, the CX-52 is now shipping with a $7,995 list price. The CX-57 ships in September with a $12,995 list price. The XP-50DHD will ship in October with a $9,995 list price.
