The culmination of an unprecedented sales year is celebrated ocean side by Runco dealers, sales reps and staff as they participate in roundtables, preview new products and network with industry associates.
Union City, CA — May 1, 2006 — Runco International, Inc., the world leader in high-end video display and technology, held its annual Mexico Getaway in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Graciously hosted by Sam and Lori Runco at the Melia Cabo Real Resort, the Runco staff was joined by award-winning dealers, Runco sales representatives, members of the press, industry affiliates, and respective family members for a week-long event.

Runco also used the event to discuss trends in video, unveil new products and preview product demonstrations, as well as provide dealers and reps a sneak peek at what’s coming later in 2006 from the company. This year, one of the hot topics at the roundtables included Runco’s exclusive patent-pending CineWide technology which uses electronic processing to stretch a movie image vertically and an anamorphic lens to stretch it horizontally to fill a 2.35:1 screen to reproduce a picture in its original Super Widescreen Cinemascope format. Runco also held the first ever demo of 1080p with CineWide on the prototype Runco RS-1100 1080p single-chip DLP projector. They also showcased two additional 1080p projectors which are expected to be shipping by CEDIA.

Now in its eleventh year, the 2006 Getaway provides a platform for dealers, press, and Runco representatives to engage in open roundtable discussions, share invaluable feedback and collaboratively strategize for the coming year. Followed by a Wine Tasting, Egg Toss/Potato Sack Race, Belly Flop Contest, Talent Show, and an Annual Golf Tournament all attendees are encouraged to participate in a plethora of family-fun activities that round out the daily schedule.
