RTIs Upgraded TheaterTouch Designer 4.1 Programming Software Packs Punch

Latest Programming Software Supports New RK3 In-Wall Keypad with Greater Programming Flexibility and Expanded IR Database

EDEN PRAIRIE, MINN. — March 27, 2006 — In its continual effort to increase support for dealers nationwide, Remote Technologies Inc. (RTI) introduced an upgraded version of its TheaterTouch Designer Software program (4.1). The new software enables RTI dealers to program control systems for any size entertainment system using all the latest universal system controllers. The updated software strengthens a program that is considered by many home theater designers to be the simplest and most versatile in the industry.

“With the release of our new and improved TheaterTouch Designer software, we’re happy to say that a good thing just got better,” said Matthew Lust, National Product Trainer for RTI. “At RTI, we take great pride in our software, which has evolved over the past decade to become the most intuitive, flexible, and powerful control system programming interface available to custom installation dealers. We consider TheaterTouch to be as essential as any of our remotes. That’s why we use feedback from dealers on each new software iteration to solve the challenges they face today. We are committed to providing the CEDIA installers with the very best in control solutions and with the proper tools and training to professionally program them.”

The new TheaterTouch Designer software supports all current RTI products, including remotes, in-wall keypads, and control processors. It also includes a complete library of custom buttons and templates for all RTI controllers including the latest RK3; and can interface with multiple control processors like the newest RP-1. In addition, the program can create macro command strings with an unlimited number of steps for any RTI remote, and attach .WAV audio files to controllers with playback capability such as the T3 and K4.

New features in TheaterTouch 4.1 include an “assign numbers automatically” function in the IR library, IR routing control in channel macro wizard, full detailed display of existing macros in the channel macro wizard, “notes” field added to the device properties for every device type, the ability to name flags, and an expanded IR database. The addition of these features further enhances the cutting-edge TheaterTouch Designer Programming Software by giving dealers more flexibility in their programming, as well as unique features which can expedite the programming process.

In addition, as part of RTI’s Advanced Control University program, a series of training videos is now available online. With over three hours of support providing an overview of the entire RTI product lineup and detailed programming procedures, the new TheaterTouch Designer instruction videos provide RTI dealers the convenience of point-and-click tutorials wherever they have access to the Internet. The Advanced Control University program represents RTI’s effort to give custom installers the edge in delivering powerful and easy-to-use whole-house control systems. With one software program, TheaterTouch, installers are enabled to program the entire line of RTI products.

The new 4.1 software runs on Window 98 Second Edition, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP or a higher operating system. The new software and training videos are available now. Installers can log on to www.rticorp.com/dealers to access the information.
