RTI Releases Newest Version of its Cutting-Edge Software

TheaterTouch Designer 5.0 Now Supports New T2-C Handheld Controller

EDEN PRAIRIE, MINN. — January 25, 2007 — Remote Technologies Inc. (RTI), the leading manufacturer of advanced control systems, announces advancements to its existing programming software with the debut of TheaterTouch Designer 5.0 Software. The newest update to the already stellar programming software represents RTI’s commitment to provide the best in dealer support, while expanding the scope and flexibility of its products. In addition to supporting a bevy of RTI products, the 5.0 version now enables dealers to program the recently introduced and award-winning T2-C handheld system controller.

“RTI has an already established reputation among dealers nationwide for having one of the most intuitive and flexible software programs in the control industry,” said Peter Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “Our new software iteration has been redesigned to solve some common installation challenges while continuing to provide the simplest programming platform possible. RTI’s focus is to deliver the very best in control solutions with the proper tools and training to professionally program them.”

The updated TheaterTouch Designer 5.0 supports all current RTI products, including handheld remotes, in-wall keypads, and control processors. Dealers can use the software to program the RK3 and K4 in-wall system controllers, which feature a complete library of custom buttons and templates. The updated software can also interface with multiple control processors like the RP-1. All RTI handheld system controllers including the T1, T2+, T2-C, T3, T4 and U1 are supported by the new 5.0 software.

The TheaterTouch Designer 5.0 software has been released to maximize the programming capabilities of the new T2-C handheld system controller. Among some of the T2-C’s innovative features is a popular three-way rocker switch for scrolling list navigation, ideal for quick and easy access to a user’s music or video libraries.

New in version 5.0 is “Glass,” a new page-type that provides an entirely innovative look for pages and buttons, plus complete flexibility in the design of the TheaterTouch screen. Several pre-defined button shapes are provided, as well as a complete set of editing tools to create custom graphics for the display. Infrared codes can be added to any button by a simple drag-and-drop process. The Macro Editor provides a simple interface for allowing every button in the system to carry out complex multi-step actions. “Glass” also features a new bitmap library, which allows programmers and users to choose from a wider array of colors and symbols, thereby enhancing their remote control experience.

TheaterTouch Designer 5.0 also includes a powerful Infrared Library Manager, which allows infrared codes to be learned and stored for easy reuse in multiple systems. Updates to the included infrared library are continually being made available for dealer download.

Available only to RTI authorized dealers, the new TheaterTouch Designer 5.0 software provides a variety of powerful tools to make the programming process quick and easy.
