ReQuest announces release of software update for multi-award-winning VideoReQuest

Ballston Spa, New York–November 30, 2005–ReQuest Inc., has announced the release of an important software update for the company’s multi-award- winning VideoReQuest Digital Video Controller. Among the significant changes found in version 1.2.0 are:

• Automatic Cover Art for more than 6,000 popular DVD titles from Disney, Fox, Sony, Buena Vista, Miramax, Touchstone, ABC, ESPN, Pixar, Sony Pictures, Columbia, Tri-Star, 20th Century Fox, Fox Home Entertainment, and Lucasfilm.

• Improved DVD Information Lookup–VideoReQuest automatically connects via the Internet to the All Movie Guide-AMG database (more than 90,000 DVD titles) to easily update DVD information. Consumers can also manually download data from the database and customize the information using VideoReQuest’s built-in webserver. When cover art is not available, VideoReQuest automatically assigns genre-icons when the on-screen menu is enabled.

• Other improvements found in v1.2.0 are a dramatically improved on-screen graphical user interface that features high resolution, colored icons for all navigation categories including Genre, Cover Art, Title, Director, Ratings, Recently Played and Recently Added. VideoReQuest’s built-in webserver features improvements that give the consumer the ability to edit content such as Title, Genre, Year, Director, Cast, and Plot. For advanced users, ARQLink support now provides the ability for remote connection to search and edit content.

According to Zachary Piech, ReQuest’s Video Product Manager, “These upgrades offer significant enhancements that make using the VideoReQuest easier than ever for consumers who want to quickly modify information, view recently added DVDs, and incorporate cover art for their DVD collections.”

The new software update v1.2.0 is integrated into all VideoReQuest components shipped as of November 7, 2005. Customers and installers with earlier versions can easily upgrade by following the onscreen menu prompts.
