Rega System One is an Affordable Analog Solution

The Rega System One includes the wonderful io Integrated Amplifier, Planar 1 Turntable, and Kyte speakers for under $2,000.

Rega System One Angle

Rega gets it. I love it when a brand shows that it understands the changing nature of the market and what people jumping into high-end audio are willing to spend on their first system. The Rega System One delivers everything you need for a great sounding entry-level analog system including the cables; and not the cheap ones that come with the crap sold at Best Buy.

The perfect all-in-one analogue solution. Rega System One is designed to be simple to set up, easy to use and deliver a true analogue experience straight out of the box. The Rega System One consists of the multi-award winning Planar 1 turntable, the io amplifier, Kyte loudspeakers and all the cables you need to immerse yourself in the wonderful world of vinyl.

We recently reviewed the Rega io and think it’s one of the best entry-level integrated amplifiers on the market. It’s not a powerhouse, but it’s the right choice for 2-way bookshelf loudspeakers like the Rega Kyte or Wharfedale Diamond 12.1s.

Rega System One Turntable

The Planar 1 is Rega’s entry-level turntable and it’s a decent table if you’re just starting out. A Planar 2 or Planar 3 is a rather significant step-up but that would raise the price of this system by a lot of money; something that would defeat the purpose of the package.

The Rega Kyte is probably the most interesting component of the three for the simple reason that it sounds so much larger than it looks. Rega’s loudspeakers don’t get a lot of attention in comparison to the rest of its extensive lineup and that’s actually a mistake by those considering its components.

We covered the Kyte in a recent installment of the Audiophile System Builder and it’s an excellent bookshelf loudspeaker with a solid punch.

Rega System One Front

What’s missing from this system is a digital network player and CD player; Rega makes the excellent Apollo that we featured in our 2021 CD Player Buying Guide but it does not offer a streamer and there are no plans for one in 2022 according to our sources.

For less than $2,000, the Rega System One is an excellent system complete with cables, turntable, loudspeakers, and integrated amplifier.
