Pure announced the Sensia 200D Connect wireless music system with a large high-resolution, capacitive color touchscreen and advanced user-interface. As the follow-up to their original Sensia, the 200D delivers upgraded performance, room-filling audio and one touch and timed USB recording, and cloud-based music streaming.
A fully featured wireless music and radio system, Sensia 200D Connect uses Wi-Fi technology to allow users to stream a wide range of audio including millions of songs through Pure Music; music stored on a home computer or network storage device; tens of thousands of internet radio stations and hundreds of thousands of podcasts and on demand programmes; a wide range of ambient and natural sounds, as well as FM radio.
Pure Music, Pure’s cloud-based on-demand music service and Pure Tag, a unique, free, tagging service, are seamlessly integrated into the Sensia 200D Connect. Pure Music allows subscribers to discover, explore and listen to millions of music tracks for a monthly subscription, and keeps the user’s favourites and playlists synchronised across Pure’s range of wireless music systems, PCs, Macs and smartphones/tablets running the free companion iOS or Android Pure Lounge App. Pure Tag is a free service that allows users to bookmark tracks they hear on the radio, and subsequently explore around those tracks via the powerful search and recommendation facilities of the PURE Lounge (www.thelounge.com/us), to discover more about the artists and their back catalogue, podcasts, or even branch out and discover similar and related artists.
While listening to their soundtrack of choice, the user can interact with the sophisticated color touchscreen interface on Sensia 200D Connect, which is fast and smooth. Users can view weather reports or station slideshows, engage with Twitter and Facebook, keep up to date with selected RSS feeds or use the large colour screen to view photos stored locally or via Picasa.
Sensia 200D Connect supports instant and timed recording of live internet radio to USB memory stick. For instant recording, the user simply needs to touch the ‘record’ button on the touchscreen or use the dedicated ‘record’ button on the matching remote control. There are also multiple timers enabling the user to set Sensia 200D Connect to record up to three different regular programmes. Recordings can be played back on the Sensia 200D Connect and it is also possible to play recorded content back on Pure’s Highway 300Di in-car digital radio and audio adapter and the Sirocco 550, Pure’s internet-connected micro hi-fi system.
Delivering 30W RMS of digital sound via DSP tuned high efficiency class-D amplifiers and in-house custom designed full-range speakers for accurate timbre and detail resolution, Sensia 200D Connect has impressive stereo separation and completely immersive, room-filling sound. Sensia 200D Connect has both bass and treble control for users to set up the audio to their own preferences.
Sensia 200D Connect is destined to be a central feature of any room with a distinctive, elliptical shape and comes in striking black or white versions. A moulded stand is supplied, which allows the user to angle the radio to an optimum viewing position and a matching remote control completes the look.
Other features include an input for an iPod/MP3 player; two fully featured alarms; countdown timer; sleep timer and a headphone socket. Add the optional rechargeable Pure F1 ChargePAK to listen to internet content anywhere within range of the Wi-Fi network or to FM radio when further afield.
Sensia 200D Connect is also part of the EcoPlus programme, a statement of Pure’s ethical philosophy and ongoing commitment to looking after the environment. All Pure products are designed to minimise their environmental impact and manufactured in ethically approved and audited facilities. They have reduced power consumption in operation and standby, use recycled packaging materials, have the smallest possible packaging and components selected to minimise environmental impact.
