Proview LCD HDTVs Featuring HQV Processing Introduced

San Jose, CA–(Jan. 5, 2007)–Silicon Optix, the leader in programmable video processors, announced today that Proview, one of the world’s top five producers of displays, will introduce a new family of premium 1080p LCD HDTVs based on Reon-VX HQV processing. The first Proview display with HQV processing will be available in the first quarter of 2007.

“Silicon Optix is the undisputed leader in high-end video processing. We’re very excited about our new family of premium displays that will feature the HQV processor and deliver incredible image quality for both high-definition (HD) and standard-definition (SD),” stated Rowell Yang, Chairman and CEO of Proview.

HQV’s true 1080i-to-1080p HD deinterlacing delivers the sharpest, most detailed HD images possible by employing per-pixel motion-adaptive algorithms and a sophisticated multidirectional diagonal filter that ensures video free of jaggies. The powerful HQV processing engine also provides per-pixel motion-adaptive noise reduction, detail enhancement, and advanced scaling to deliver premium-quality upconversion of SD material.

“We’re excited to be working with Proview because they recognize the importance of high-quality video processing on a large, high-resolution LCD display,” said Ney Christensen, VP of Sales, Silicon Optix. “I’m sure this family of LCD displays will be a tremendous success for Proview, an emerging leader in the exploding HDTV marketplace.”
