Peter Wellikoff Joins Sooloos as Chief Operating Officer

Accomplished industry veteran will oversee the rapidly growing networked home entertainment platform manufacturer’s operations.

Sooloos LLC, a leader in premium networked home entertainment systems, today announced the addition of Peter Wellikoff as its Chief Operating Officer.

Wellikoff, an accomplished 37-year consumer electronics industry veteran who most recently served as President and CEO of B&W Group from 1995 to 2007, has been a member of Sooloos’ Board of Directors since the beginning of 2008, where he had become heavily involved in all aspects of the company’s strategic planning and development.

“As a board member, Peter has leveraged his many years of experience in the CE industry to provide our management team with a wealth of new industry knowledge and information,” said Sooloos CEO Enno Vandermeer. “Given the enormous growth we anticipate in revenue, distribution and our product line this fall, the time has come for us to proactively expand and develop our corporate infrastructure. We are thrilled that Peter has joined us full-time to oversee our company’s operations.”

Wellikoff, a well-known, respected figure in the industry and a longtime board member of the Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA) PARA Division, was previously responsible for North American operations of the B&W, Classe and Rotel brands for B&W Group. During his long tenure with the B&W Group, he was responsible for the company’s unprecedented growth in revenue and market share while developing a business model and distribution operations that became industry models.

From 1987 to 1994, Wellikoff served as president and CEO of KH Group, and previously held senior executive positions with Kloss Video, Tandberg Audio and Philips Audio Video Systems. He began his career in 1971 as a retailer, co-founding Innovative Audio Video Showrooms along with two speaker brands, Innotech and Abraxis. Since January, Wellikoff also has served on the board of Neosonik Inc., a manufacturer of wireless home entertainment products.

“Sooloos’ unique and compelling home entertainment platform is a breath of fresh air, and a source of great excitement and energy for the home entertainment industry,” said Wellikoff. “When I started in the industry, home entertainment above all was fun and social. Over the years, we’ve lost some of that fun and accessibility, but Sooloos is bringing it all back in an unprecedented way. I’m very excited to join this talented group of visionaries at Sooloos.”

Sooloos’ groundbreaking digital media system for the home has received rave reviews for its extremely intuitive, easy-to-use, touch-sensitive user interface, its creative and comprehensive use of metadata, and its incredibly fast operation. Sooloos is a fun-to-use, completely approachable home media appliance that people of any age and any level of technical fluency can easily enjoy. Sooloos installers and dealers laud the system’s reliability, ease of setup and flexibility.
