Panasonic LM-RF55LV Dual-Layer 8cm DVD-R Disc Announced

40 Minute High Definition Recording Possible with AVCHD format

Panasonic, the leading brand of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., announced that the company will release single-sided dual layer 8cm (3-inch) DVD-R discs next spring in the United States. The discs feature 2.6GB capacity, which enables approximately 40 minutes’* of continual recording with the AVCHD High Definition camcorder format. Thanks to specially developed hard coat technology, the surface of the disc is extremely scratch resistant, allowing the disc to be handled easily and safely.

40 Minute Continual Recording with High Definition Quality

Single-sided dual layer technology achieves 2.6GB large capacity, an increase from 1.4GB for a conventional single layer disc. It enables the disc to continually record High Definition quality video for approximately 40 minutes without turning over the disc during shooting.

High scratch resistance due to hard coating

A specially developed hard coat technology realized a significant boost in disc resistance to scratches, which ensures easy handling of the disc even in outdoor use as well as extra protection for your important videos.

Lightweight and shock-proof case

Lightweight and soft material is used for the case. It is convenient to carry and even if dropped it does not break easily. The case has a label allowing the user to easily check the recording format, which helps users to recognize the format when playing back the disc.
