Optoma Debuts Breakthrough, Ultra Slim 50-inch

Industry-leading plasma HDTV, SP50A, offers stylish design and rich levels of image quality with a 3000:1 contrast ratio and 1366 X 768 progressive scan resolution

LAS VEGAS, CES, Jan. 6, 2005 — Redefining the home theater experience, Optoma Technology, Inc. introduced its ultra-slim, ultra-stylish, high performance 50-inch High Definition (HD) plasma TV at the 2005 CES. With the introduction of several pioneering solutions for home theater aficionados, including digital projectors, plasma and rear projection TVs, and video scalers, Optoma is sure to make a big splash at the show. The SP50A is available now at $5,999. Optoma is exhibiting at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas (January 6-9, 2005), at the Optoma booth located in the South Hall section 1, #20538.

Optoma’s SP50A 50-inch plasma offers the premier in HDTV compatibility at 1080p through the digital connectivity of DVI (Digital Visual Interface) with HDCP. The SP50A is a slim 4-inches in depth, providing a stunning and dramatic visual enrichment to any living room.

With breakthrough plasma display technology, the Optoma SP50A plasma television delivers unparalleled clarity, contrast, and 16.77 million colors. The stunning image quality is further enhanced with pure digital signal processing from source to screen, delivering a massive 1366 X 768 progressive scan resolution eliminating image distortion. It also offers an astonishing native 16:9 widescreen format for 480p, 720p 1080i, and 1080p signals.

The Optoma SP50A plasma supports a variety of computer and video inputs as well as PIP and POP functions for videoconferencing and other applications as well as RS-232 for communication with professional control systems. It provides multiple connectors (DVI-D, HDCP, Component Video, Composite, S-Video, RF, VGA/YPbPr), to ensure compatibility with all current and future digital devices.
