LAS VEGAS (6/18/08) — Onkyo Professional today introduced three new components designed specifically for the professional A/V installation market at InfoComm 08, the world’s largest professional audiovisual tradeshow. The new models are a THX Select2 Plus multizone 1080p upscaling A/V receiver with full HDMI v. 1.3a functionality and Audyssey MultEQ automatic room correction, an XM satellite radio ready stereo receiver, and a 1080p upscaling 6-disc DVD changer.
The Onkyo Professional TX–SR706P is a 7.1-channel A/V receiver that combines up-to-date high-end performance with versatile control and integration options for commercial applications. It includes four HDMI v. 1.3a inputs, internal Faroudja DCDi 1080p video upscaling, and complete decoding for Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio formats. For simplified installation and setup, it features Audyssey MultEQ automatic room correction and the new Dynamic EQ loudness compensation technology. For systems control and integration, it includes a bi-directional RS-232 port, IR input and output, 12 volt trigger output, and a powerful suite of multizone options, including the company’s exclusive Powered Zone2 capability. It is also both XM and Sirius Satellite Ready, making it simple to integrate satellite radio reception.
The Onkyo Professional TX-8555P is a highly capable stereo receiver that includes XM Ready satellite radio integration capability for commercial installation applications. It includes Zone2 pre-outs for flexible system integration and features 100 Watts per channel of power, including the company’s WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology), allowing it to operate over a wide dynamic range of 5Hz – 100 kHz with remarkably low distortion.
The final introduction at InfoComm 08 is the DV-CP706P DVD changer, a 6-disc source component with HDMI output and internal 1080p upscaling for high-quality reproduction of standard-definition DVDs. Like all HDMI-enabled Onkyo Professional components, it includes the company’s RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI) functionality, which allows for automatic integration of many system control functions between compatible components from Onkyo as well as many other manufacturers.
The Onkyo Professional TX-SR706P A/V receiver and TX-8555P stereo receiver will each be available in July at a suggested retail prices of $899 and $349 each, respectively. The DV-CP706P DVD changer will be available in August at a suggested retail price of $299.
