MAHWAH, N.J. — Sharp Electronics introduced five new Liquid Crystal Display Televisions (LC-TVs) that supply consumers with an even broader palette of size and style options for high-quality television viewing in every room. Ranging from 20-inch high-definition (HDTV) Monitors for the den, home office or family room, to 13-inch and 15-inch enhanced-definition (EDTV) Monitors that are perfect for the kitchen or bedroom, Sharp’s B8U and B9U series of AQUOS LC-TVs are now more than ever an integral part of today’s most fashionable homes.
“Sharp AQUOS TVs have consistently set performance and style standards for flat-panel televisions, but our company has never rested on its past achievements. We’re especially proud of the ASV/Black TFT panel on all of these new models, which allows them be put almost anywhere — even near a bright window — while preserving the vivid, accurate picture quality,” said Bruce Tripido, director of product marketing for display devices, Consumer Electronics Marketing Group, Sharp.
One of the preeminent 4:3 LC-TVs on display at 2005 InfoComm is the LC-20B9U 20-inch 4:3 HDTV Monitor. Like its 15-inch EDTV sibling, the LC-15B9U, it has a beautiful titanium finish with black accents on the sides. The LC-20B9U features XGA resolution of 1024 x 768, a PC input, and Sharp’s proprietary Black TFT/Advanced Super View panel, so TV shows and DVD movies seem to pop off the screen. Using Sharp’s Emmy Award-winning LCD technology*, the brightness rating for the LC-20B9U is a dazzling 450 cd/m2. With 480p image quality, the LC-15B9U is an ideal companion for the many affordable progressive-scan DVD players that are available today. This sleek new TV also down-converts HDTV signals for convenient viewing.
Consumers also have the option to choose the new LC-20B8U, a 20-inch 4:3 HDTV Monitor with a silver finish and black side accents. It too has a 1024 x 768 XGA Advanced Super View panel, 450 cd/m2 brightness and excellent viewing angles. The 15-inch LC-15B8U and 13-inch LC-13B8U EDTV Monitors are great for TV and movie watching, and with their smaller footprints, they enable maximum placement flexibility.
“Perhaps most important, all of our new 4:3 AQUOS LC-TVs are built on the design and engineering heritage that has made Sharp the global leader in Liquid Crystal Television**,” Tripido continued.
