Newly designed Surge Protectors clean up cable clutter, keeping your work area neat
(Compton, CA) — August 15, 2006 — Recognizing people’s needs for more thoughtfully designed surge protectors, the Belkin Concealed Surge Protector and Compact Surge Protector both organize your workspace and protect your equipment. Recent market research conducted by Belkin shows people’s needs for surge protectors that offer better cable management, more outlets, and an overall unobtrusive design. With these new Surge Protectors, Belkin addresses all these needs. Both will ship in North America in October, with launches in Asia, Europe, and Australia to follow shortly.
The power-protection market has been missing surge protectors that combine functionality with thoughtful design that are respectful of people’s needs. In focus groups conducted to better understand people’s needs, Belkin found that–along with protection from power disturbances–design and safety were major drivers. A longer cord and more space for block-style adapters were also important features.
“We considered the focus-group feedback when we developed our new Surge Protectors,” says Kelly Berg, Sr. Product Manager for Belkin. “For example, people commonly complained of a need for a safer environment for their family, so our Concealed Surge Protector features a closing cover that prevents children and pets from tampering with the outlets.”
