NEW YORK CITY (May 20, 2004)– Upstaging speakers costing twice as much, Aperion Audio’s Vertical Array Center Channel (522D-VAC) speaker was unveiled at the Home Entertainment Show, May 20.
This latest addition to the acclaimed Intimus line brings solid engineering and remarkable component quality to bear on mid-range beaming problems inherent in common center channel designs.
The 522D-VAC makes clever use of centrally located, vertically arrayed tweeter and 4″ midrange drivers to overcome the lack of dispersion typical of center channel speakers.
“We engineered the 522D-VAC to expand the center channel’s optimal listening zone horizontally across the listening area,” explains Aperion’s Acoustical Engineer Ken Humphreys. “A midrange driver unburdens the woofers of the troublesome frequencies on the low end. Then, competing higher frequencies are redirected vertically where listeners are less likely to encounter them.”
The 522D-VAC components include a 5.25″ midrange woofer, a 4″ midrange and 1″ ferrofluid-filled dome tweeter–all magnetically shielded. Recommended power from 50 to 200 watts; frequency response, 80hz to 18Khz; nominal speaker impedance, 6-8 ohms.
Aperion speakers, consistently lauded for remarkable quality in their price category, are constructed with rock solid 1” thick high-density fiberboard with a furniture-grade real cherry wood or high gloss black painted finish.
Aperion Audio manufactures and sells speakers directly, online with a risk-free, 30-day audition. Aperion is setting a new standard for customer service, online or off, with smart audio information resources and unmatched customer support before, after–or regardless of–a purchase.
