La Mesa, CA, November 16, 2005 – Neothings, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of home theater switching and routing equipment, announced today that production shipments of the Avalon component video and digital audio matrix switch have begun this week.
“We are very excited to have accomplished the mission of bring this family of products to the market,” states CEO Bill Paul.
The Avalon matrix features up to 8 component video and digital audio inputs and up to 4 component video and digital audio outputs. It is a full matrix switch, meaning that any input can be routed to any output, independent of what the other outputs are doing. Neothings also designed the product to switch audio and video separately, giving complete control to the user. The Avalon is also available in a 6×2 configuration.
“In addition to having enough inputs for multiple HD receivers and DVD changers, this product will allow the end user and system integrator to build a high definition multi-zone system without spending $4,000 on a matrix switch,” adds Paul.
Neothings was started earlier this year with the goal of creating audio / video switching and routing products specifically built for home theater enthusiasts and custom system integrators. Home theater customers typically need products features that mass market manufacturers aren’t willing to include, so Neothings focus has been on performance and features rather than price. Custom Integrators that are tired of hassles when trying to control regular consumer equipment will breathe a sigh of relief with the many control options and simple operation of the Neothings Integrator line of equipment.
