MyxerTones Surpasses One Million Mobile Users

MyxerTones, the best place to make and share mobile content, today announced that more than ONE MILLION people have downloaded content to their mobile phones since its launch in November 2006. With a consistently growing user base, more than two million ringtones and wallpaper images are now being downloaded each month, letting users personalize their mobile phones and providing content owners with an easy way to create, share, and sell their own music and files.

MyxerTones just announced in April that it had reached one million downloads for the month of March, with new numbers indicating strong growth of more than 100% in just the past three months. A substantial portion of MyxerTones’ registered users are active members of the MyxerTones community, frequently returning to the site to download multiple pieces of mobile content. Ease of use, a wide selection of mobile content and an overall positive user experience are all contributing heavily toward MyxerTones’ explosive and continuing growth.

Content creators have demanded a fast, free, and easy way to deliver their content to mobile users, and consumers are consistently seeking to enhance their mobile device with the latest media. The Myxer platform continues to bridge the gap between content providers and content consumers, eliminating the technical or other barriers that previously hampered the delivery of mobile content.

“Our phenomenal growth clearly validates the size of the market for independent mobile content and the need for a simple solution to delivering and downloading that content,” said Myk Willis, founder and CTO of MyxerTones. “MyxerTones serves small independent content owners, independent musicians and small businesses that have been completely shut out of delivering mobile content because of the technical and institutional obstacles previously in the way. Without our platform, that content might never have been available for mobile download.”

MyxerTones empowers independent bands, music fans, and other content creators and owners to easily distribute their music, images and other content to mobile devices – without the need for special carrier deals or contracts – and also provides the community within which to distribute it. MyxerTones has not only eliminated the complexity of “mobilizing” content, but also provides a large and growing audience of over one million unique mobile phone numbers who could immediately download that content.

“Though much of the current mobile content is in the form of ringtones and wallpaper from independent bands, other users have uploaded videos, images, jingles, wildlife sounds, and even jokes,” Willis added. “Our goal for the platform is to free content creators to focus on the creative potential inherent in mobile content and not be limited by the existing complexity. Reaching the one million user mark is a great milestone for us.”
