Multiband Acquires 21st Century Satellite LLC In Florida
Adds 23 Upscale RV And Mobile Home Parks
Across Florida
To Its Client Base
New Hope, Minnesota, August 18, 2004. Multiband (NASDAQ: MBND–News) announced today, following closely behind the completed acquisitions of Minnesota Digital Universe and Rainbow Systems LLC, Multiband has successfully concluded another acquisition, 21st Century Satellite LLC in Florida. This new acquisition will add to Multiband Subscriber Services customer base nearly 13,000 units with an average population of 5,000 subscribers, due to the seasonality of these units located in Florida
The newly acquired Florida system contains approximately 119 miles of 750mhz two-way cable, capable of delivering full data and digital applications. The system presently is delivering only video service. “This will be upgraded to include data applications as soon as possible” said Jim Mandel, CEO of Multiband. “This acquisition, along with Minnesota Digital Universe and Rainbow Systems LLC, as well as management additions and internal growth, will build a very solid revenue and profit foundation for Multiband and will impact our earnings numbers immediately.”
Multiband anticipates that this new asset will generate approximately $1.25 million in annual revenues and approximately $200,000 to $300,000 in profits. Florida is now Multiband’s largest market, having been temporarily outpaced by the impact in California from the Rainbow Systems transaction. Additionally, Multiband stated that its holdings in Florida were virtually unaffected by the unfortunate events caused by Hurricane Charley.
Multiband operates nation wide, with offices in Fargo, Minneapolis, Rochester, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, and Tampa with satellite facilities through subcontractors in St. Louis, Dallas, and New York.
