Motorola today announced the second-generation Android-powered DROID X2 smartphone will be available from Verizon Wireless on May 19th. The DROID X2 has a dual-core 1GHz processor, 4.3-inch scratch-resistant and anti-reflective qHD display and 8-megapixel camera with continuous autofocus.
DROID X2 by Motorola is the first smartphone at Verizon Wireless to sport a dual-core 1GHz processor, delivering up to twice the power as its predecessor DROID X. DROID X2 provides lightning fast speeds for better gaming experiences, web browsing, page rendering, and Adobe Flash video performance.
Verizon Wireless' first smartphone with a qHD (quarter high-definition) display, DROID X2 by Motorola has 26 percent more pixels than DROID X to provide sharper definition while viewing the richest Web content with Adobe Flash 10. The large 4.3-inch screen uses scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass and an anti-reflective qHD display to give users a sharp, clear view and a wide virtual keypad without compromise.
The DROID X2's 8-megapxiel camera with continuous autofocus delivers 44 percent faster shot-to-shot performance than Droid X, and HD video recording, ensures you always capture the moment. Share your pictures, videos, web browsing and games on a larger HD screen with the DROID X2, the first device at Verizon Wireless with full Mirror Mode using HDMI out. The new Gallery app allows users to view, tag, post photos and comments on sites like Flickr and Facebook, all from one place.
Additional features:
- Powered by Android 2.2, to be updated to Android 2.3
- Mirror Mode allows you to view and share your photos, videos and downloaded movies on a larger TV via HDMI output
- Enterprise-ready with security and IT-grade policies, allowing you to use your DROID X2 for work and play
