UNION CITY, CALIFORNIA — March 9, 2005 — In a few weeks, residents of South Florida will be able to experience a whole new concept in home design centers. The new Connect 4 showplace combines home building, interior design, entertainment, and automation all presented under one roof by four unique companies. Runco dealer, Audio Command Systems will unveil its state-of-the-art home theater in the design center, which features the VX-1000d high-definition projector and CW-50 flat panel display. The 6,700-square-foot center is scheduled to open its doors to the Miami Beach community in the second half of April. Connect 4 is located at 3886 Biscayne Blvd. in Miami.
Barry Lieberman of Audio Command Systems says that when it was time to design the home theater, choosing the video display was easy. “We selected the Runco projector for this new design showcase because it is simply the best at its price point,” he said. “Audio Command Systems wants visitors to see that they can achieve outstanding home theater performance without breaking from their aesthetic objectives. Runco’s products are powerful and versatile enough to make that goal a reality.”
Bob Hana, president of Runco International said Connect 4’s unique approach complements the benefits of Runco’s pioneering products. “Runco International’s video technology is ideally matched for a venue like Connect 4. We design our projectors and plasma monitors to provide more than an exceptional picture, they function in tandem with virtually any other entertainment and control system. That’s why we’re the choice of the world’s most talented home theater designers.”
The Connect 4 design center contains a number of home settings, including a living room, family room, and bathroom, which demonstrate the latest trends in entertainment and comfort. In building the home theater, Audio Command Systems sought to create an impressive viewing experience by not only including video displays by Runco International, but by seeing the installation environment as a flexible canvas. The company uses sliding wall panels to hide and reveal video monitors, and film screens that drop down from the ceiling to show projected video images. Adding to the overall effect, lights throughout the center automatically dim and brighten to accentuate scenes, and even heating and cooling reacts in conjunction with other systems. With so many technologies working together in one place at one time, careful attention was placed in automating the homeowners’ lifestyle, allowing them to take full control of their environments with great simplicity and ease of use. Audio Command Systems installed touch-sensitive screens in the walls, and integrated wireless web tablets (resembling large Palm Pilots) that use straightforward menus to give users complete access to Connect 4’s entertainment and comfort options.
Audio Command Systems is joined by three other companies in carrying out Connect 4’s concept. Interior decorator XO Designs integrated the various audio/video systems and furnishings with the living space; general contractor Kamper Contracting provides furniture and custom-shaped pieces made from wood, metal, and other materials; and SE Realty, whose client base of athletes and entertainers overlaps with Connect 4’s target audience.
