Wireless speaker technology is expanding the options consumers have to set up and enjoy a great listening experience. Bluetooth is the most popular wireless technology in use, but there are others, such as DTS Play-Fi, Denon HEOS, Yamaha MusicCast, BluOS/Bluesound, Sonos, and WiSA.
As part of their certification program, WiSA has given Mesanovic’s new CDM65 Controlled Directivity Monitor Speaker, WiSA HT Interoperability Certification.
Mesanovic & WiSA
The Mesanovic CDM65 is a powered three-way speaker with a built-in digital signal processor (DSP). The CDM65 is able to receive wireless audio from any WiSA transmitter, such as the WiSA SoundSend, and be paired for inclusion in a stereo or 7.1 channel setup if desired. This speaker is designed to be used in both professional studio and home environments.
Tip: All WiSA HT-certified devices, regardless of brand, can work together.
Designed for uncompromised performance and connectivity, The CDM65 can upload predefined tuning to the speaker such as the cardioid mode, which controls the speaker’s directivity down to 150Hz. In this mode, the sound is directed toward the listener and away from the rear and side walls. This reduces undesired room effects and the need for extensive room treatment.
From Deni Mesanovic, founder of Mesanovic: “We are very proud to deliver precision accuracy, controlled directivity, and wireless connectivity in a no-compromise system that studio recording engineers and audio enthusiasts alike will appreciate,…Earning the Certification from WiSA and incorporating its HT technology adds immense value to this product and delivers next-generation wireless audio capabilities to our customers.”
From Tony Ostrom, WiSA President: “The performance, quality, and engineering of Mesanovic’s studio-grade products are truly impressive,…The CDM65’s integrated WiSA HT technology enables the speaker to seamlessly integrate into any system configuration and deliver stunning sound wirelessly, whether used in a professional recording setting or to create the ultimate home theater experience.”
Platin Stereo Hub
In addition to being able to pair with any WiSA transmitter, the CDM65 also wirelessly connects to the Platin Stereo Hub, manufactured for Mesanovic.
Tip: The Hub can transmit 24-bit 48kHz/96kHz audio to Mesanovic CDM65 speakers with latency down to 2.6ms.
The Stereo Hub includes several source input options including USB Audio, HDMI (ARC), Digital Optical, Digital Coaxial, RCA, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, ChromeCast, and Bluetooth.
Tip: The Stereo Hub is also Roon Ready.
The Hub also incorporates a DSP processor which can be used with the Mesanovic app (app details and availability forthcoming). The app provides room correction and manual EQ to accommodate user preferences. A wireless remote control is included.
Tip: If you don’t want to use the CDM65’s WiSA capabilities, you can connect a wired analog source directly to each speaker via its XLR/Balanced input connection.
