Thornhill, Ontario, Nov 2006: Media Dynamics, the consumer electronics industry dedicated training school for custom electronics and home automation, recently introduced its latest training program for new installation technicians destined to serve employers in the Residential and Commercial Electronics sector throughout North America. The new program, based on the original 3-week course that has seen 5 years of successful operation, incorporates “skills verification” as the assurance of the graduate’s abilities. “Any employer can confirm that the Media Dynamics grad they employ has demonstrated the skills needed in home theater and automation installations”, commented Derek Lee, CEO of Mobile Dynamics Corporation, the parent company. “There is no guessing if the new hire can do the job”.

In a bold move, the school requires that students must score 100% on the Termination Skill Test in addition to the minimum 70% on all other sections of the course. “Manufacturers cite problems with field terminations as the prime cause for equipment problems, so we make sure our grads leave with that key skill mastered” continued Lee, adding “through our proprietary training methods, it’s not hard to learn how to do the job right!”

The highly focused curriculum is intensely refined for the Consumer Electronics industry, and qualifies graduates to receive 10 CEDIA Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) toward their Level 2 certification. Since Media Dynamics is a CEDIA testing location, students learn and follow CEDIA protocols and complete the Level 1 exam at the conclusion of the course.

The school also operates a Career Assistance department that matches installation companies with suitable graduates, and further supports the graduate with online continuing education through its proprietary in-house streaming server on training application. The unique program is generating increased enrollment levels, yet the school has not been able to fully satisfy the demand for its graduates by employers desperate to fill positions in the high growth custom home electronics market.

Media Dynamics is the residential systems training division of Mobile Dynamics, the independent Nationally Accredited and licensed Private Career College for mobile electronics established in 1990 in Toronto. Media Dynamics staff participate in the editing of CEDIA (Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association) examinations, and serve on the CEDIA Action Teams and Subject Matter Experts group. Its mission is to provide training and support services to the consumer electronics industry, emphasizing mobile electronics, custom home installation and sales training, and retail support services.
