Long-Range New HDMI Extender from Tributaries

511214.jpg

Orlando, FL–August 2008–A new HDMI-extending solution from Florida’s Tributaries Cable, the leader in high-value, high-performance cables and accessories for custom home audio and home-theater installations, sets a new standard for performance. Tributaries’ new HXMini5 can send fully high-definition HDMI video with audio more than 300 feet (100 meters) with no loss of video quality or A/V reliability, and does so while retaining full compatibility with the latest HDMI standard, v1.3.

The two-piece HXMini5 comprises a compact powered transmitter (a 6V power supply is included) and an equally compact receiver module. Each has a single HDMI port for connection to a source such as a set-top box or disc player (transmitter), and to a destination such as an HDTV set, HDMI switcher, or A/V processor or receiver. The modules are linked by five color-coded coaxial lines–typically, standard RG-6 cables or structured coax bundles–which connect to receiver and transmitter via standard BNC terminals. In combination with the HXMini5’s active electronics, this wide-bandwidth interconnection supports hi-def 1080p/60Hz HDMI signals over distances of up to 100 meters, 1080p/120Hz up to 55 meters, and can even support 1440p signals in professional or future environments.

The new Tributaries extender is fully HDCP-compliant and is thus completely user-transparent with all HDMI-equipped components. And because it is also compatible with HDMI v1.3, it supports Dolby Digital and DTS digital audio transmission, as well as such latest-generation HDMI features as Deep Color and CEC multi-component control. Best of all, the HXMini5’s self-calibrating active amplification and equalization, and buffered output circuitry, automatically adapt to cable length and signal rate, eliminating signal losses to ensure pristine hi-def video and unimpaired audio performance, regardless of distance.

Tributaries’ HXMini5 speeds installation troubleshooting with five colored LED indicators that confirm power, as well as each cable’s positive connection at each end. The HXMini5 is available now, at a manufacturer’s suggested price of $450.
