To bring a world of music to Europeans, Logitech (SIX:LOGN) (NASDAQ:LOGI) today announced the support for new music services for the award-winning Logitech Squeezebox™ network music players. Using your existing wireless home network and a Squeezebox, you can tune into music and entertainment from Napster, Deezer, Mediafly and Classical.com — anywhere in your home.
Beginning today, Logitech is offering access to Napster’s library of more than 7 million songs in the United Kingdom and Germany. The company is also adding support across Europe for Deezer’s WebRadio and SmartRadio streamed music services, Mediafly’s on-demand personalized channels of shows and podcasts, and Classical.com’s selection of classical, jazz and blues music from around the world.
These new services have been added to existing services including Last.fm’s personalized music streams and the Web-based digital music storage of MP3tunes Music Lockers.
“The addition of Napster, Deezer, Mediafly and Classical.com music services brings a dramatically richer selection of music to the Logitech Squeezebox,” said David Wall, regional product manager of Logitech’s streaming music business. “Now you have literally thousands of songs and radio stations at your fingertips. The only challenge is deciding what to listen to, and where.”
