Loewe DR Streaming

654055.jpg

Loewe is enhancing it DR+ hard disk functionality with DR+ streaming, which allows the video recording to “follow” the user to any room.

Features
The Follow Me function is one application possibility offered by DR+ streaming. It allows a programme to be paused at any time and then continued on another television set. The first TV acts as the server, streaming the programme via Powerline, LAN or WLAN to another television set. Moving from the living room to the conservatory whilst continuing to watch the same programme is no problem — all that's needed is a touch of the pause button and the activation of the Follow Me function. The programme can be picked up where left off on the conservatory television, for example, and nothing is missed. The length of the pause doesn't make a difference. The television in the living room automatically switches to a special, energy-saving, stand-by mode. But it is also possible to watch the standard TV programmes via the built-in tuner on this flat-screen whilst the recording is streamed from the DR+ hard disk to the second set. And there's no need for a DR+ hard disk in the client. Only the main set needs to have this feature.

Even the following situation can be quickly resolved with DR+ streaming: someone is watching football live in the living room, and meanwhile another member of the family would like to watch a programme that is archived on the DR+ hard disk recorder of the same television. DR+ streaming means that this recording can simply be streamed to a TV in another room, without interrupting the live football.

Home networking made easy
With DR+ streaming, a veritable archive network can even be set up with all of the DR+ hard disks in the home. All appropriately equipped televisions can be quickly and conveniently networked, allowing access to the recordings on every set from any one of the others. It goes without saying that the convenient thumbnail function available with DR+ is available on every set. This is an absolute first in the digital recording and archiving sphere, and a great plus for convenience.

Highlights

  • Convenient video streaming from room to room
  • Transfer from television to television
  • View live programme simultaneously
  • Follow Me function
  • Archive network

Availability
The DR+ streaming function will be introduced in the fourth quarter of 2010, along with the new Connect LED and Art LED televisions, and will be compatible with the entire latest Loewe TV generation. The software of all Loewe LED products can easily be updated with this function via media update.
