LAS VEGAS — January 6, 2005 — LG Mobile Phones will have a strong presence at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), demonstrating its leadership within the wireless industry and commitment to developing the most innovative mobile devices available. The LG Electronics brand will be one of the dominating presences at this year’s CES, and LG Mobile Phones will showcase 40 new handsets, including 26 new global handsets and 14 U.S. handsets.
This range of handsets will highlight all the latest technologies LG is set to offer in the U.S., including EVDO and EDGE capability, Bluetooth capability, integrated 1.3 megapixel cameras and slide design keypad handsets. In addition, the 26 global handsets on display will offer a glimpse into the future of LG’s wireless capabilities in the United States.
In addition to participating in the pre-show Digital Experience event and demonstrating the latest handset technologies at the LG Electronics booth, LG Mobile Phones has been honored with six 2005 CES “Innovations” Awards. Six new LG handsets, both recently launched and upcoming in Q1 2005, were selected as Innovations Award winners, including the VX8000 EVDO handset, the VX7000 video phone, the VX6100 camera phone, the MM-535 1.3 megapixel camera phone, the VX4700 Push-to-Talk phone and the A7110 slide-design EDGE phone. All of the award-winning handsets, along with two others from the 2004/2005 LG roadmap, will be on display at the LG Electronics booth.
“LG’s shares of the domestic and international handset markets have grown significantly in the past year as we have focused on creating handsets that integrate the most advanced mobile technologies without compromising design or ease-of-use,” said Juno Cho, president, LG Mobile Phones. “Handsets that integrate technologies like EVDO and EDGE, like the ones LG is demonstrating at the show, represent the future of wireless communication and entertainment.”
